2017 End of the Year Style Awards: Most Underrated

Every year I look through all of the looks that I have saved and look at all of the people who I feel always seem to fall just short my my best dressed lists for different events or my monthly lists, but have looks that I really do love. These are who I consider to be underrated. They are the stars that don’t necessarily get people excited before a red carpet, but always get me excited when they walk one. Zoe Kravitz has always been the supporting star. From Divergent to Big Little Lies she has been the third or fourth person on the list of stars, but she always delivers really amazing looks from some of the best brands. This year we have seen Zoe wearing Atelier Versace, Christian Dior Couture, Armani Prive, Oscar de la Renta, and The Row among others. She also scored the Saint Laurent fall campaign. Zoe was one of the first stars on the Emmy Awards red carpet in her rainbow feathered Christian Dior Couture gown and she actually stayed in my mind the whole night ending up on my best dressed at the Emmy’s list. I am really hoping that next year as she makes the awards rounds with Big Little Lies that she continues to be one of the most major starlets on the red carpets. Now usually I wouldn’t think of men’s fashion when I think of who is an underrated star but when I asked 3 fellow fashion bloggers who they thought was underrated Riz Ahmed was mentioned by all. I have to say that is probably the case. I think we have heard lots of lauding for men’s style stars like Jared Leto, Eddie Redmayne, Rami Malek and Ansel Elgort for pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable for men to wear on the red carpet, but we haven’t heard as much about Riz. Super stylist Ilaria Urbinati has put Riz in looks from Dior Homme, Prada, Burberry, and Zenga this year and not a single one was the a standard suit. From color to print to texture I think that Riz has been one of the best dressed men this year.
