There were a lot of baby bumps on the red carpet this year. Amal Clooney could have taken this award home for just the Atelier Versace gown she wore for the Cesar Awards. There was also Jessica Alba, Araya A. Hargate, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Beyonce, Gal Gadot, and Ciara were all contenders for this award. If I had to pick another as a runner up it would definitely be Araya, who killed her time at the Cannes Film Festival wearing absolutely amazing couture moments. It was ultimately the fact that Nicky Hilton showed her amazing sense of personal style over her baby bump in some really great runway and off the rack designer looks that ended up making me fall in love with her maternity style. As a socialite I know that a lot of what Nicky wears for red carpet events are not borrowed, but purchased for her own collection. There really hasn’t been a single look that Nicky has draped over her baby bump that I haven’t liked. Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Alice + Olivia, and Gucci have all been part of her maternity style showing that you don’t have to give up fashion for function while growing a tiny human inside of you. We are still early in Nicky’s pregnancy so maybe she can make it a repeat win next year having amazing late term pregnancy style next year.
