2017 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Plus One

I think it goes without saying that I, like most of the world, LOVE Amal Clooney. She is seriously one of the chicest women on the face of the planet. She is a strong and powerful woman that doesn’t let her power job of being a human rights lawyer get in the way of how she wants to dress. She mixes her brand new off the runway pieces with some of the greatest vintage pieces in the world. Because of the fact that Amal is such a strong woman I have felt terrible reducing her to just a plus one. I loved everything that Amal wore this year, but with her pregnancy this year she laid pretty low. Most of the appearances she made this year were when she was arm in arm with her hubby George as he promoted his films. The first great look was when Amal helped redefine maternity glamour wearing a strapless Atelier Versace with an ombré feathered mermaid hem at the Cesar Awards. Then she was virtually low key until she stepped out in Venice during the film festival to help George present his film Suburbicon wearing a selection of looks which included vintage Madame Gres, custom lavender Atelier Versace, and a blue Missoni fringed cocktail dress. That Atelier Versace moment on the Venice Film Festival red carpet is definitely one of the Best Dressed of the Year list contenders. She capped off her plus one duties wearing a vintage Bill Blass gown at the LA premiere of Suburbicon. Like I said, Amal hasn’t worn a single look that I haven’t loved this year. It was announced last month that Amal would be one of the co-chairs of next years Met Gala with Donatella Versace and Rihanna, so I am ready to see what next year has in store for her.
