2017 American Music Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

The 2017 American Music Awards are tomorrow and with each day that passes and the announcements of who will be attending this years show I am getting more and more excited. I think that this years red carpet may just be one of the best years yet. I have said in almost all of my wishes this is one of the last stops where I am expecting a few looks that want to vie for Best Dressed of the Year and I am expecting some really major moments on the red carpet to try and bust my best of 2017 list. Diana Ross is a legend and she will be receiving the lifetime achievement award at this years American Music Awards. The last time she was on the American Music Awards red carpet was when she attended and presented Taylor Swift with the inaugural Dick Clark Award for Excellence. This year Diana will walk the red carpet as an honoree and will perform a medley of her greatest hits. For the red carpet I want to see Diana give us dramatic glamour and I think that this Ralph Lauren Fall 2017 RTW ensemble which features a long sleeve houndstooth crystal mock neck top and a full black tulle ball skirt is something that she would be immediately drawn to. Diana isn’t the first person I think of when I think of runway looks, and I thought about not featuring her in my wishes, but when I saw this look I just thought about how perfect for her it is. I can see her pairing this gown with a dramatic oversized red feather boa, bouncy full curls, a smokey eye, bold red lip, black Manolo Blahnik ‘Hangi’ clutch, a pair of black Manolo Blhanik ‘Beccara’ pumps, and vintage Harry Winston pendant drop earrings to really make this look a true Diana Ross moment. Jenna Dewan Tatum has been really killing it this year and I am excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet at the American Music Awards tomorrow night. I had originally saved a few looks for some people who I thought would be in attendance that I haven’t been able to confirm yet, so I decided to take this midnight blue liquid sequin ZAC Zac Posen Resort 2018 fit to flare slip dress which features sheer lace trim details on the bodice and give it to someone else. I had fallen in love with the idea of seeing this gown on this red carpet so when I saw that Jenna was confirmed to take to the red carpet I decided that she was the perfect person to make this dress come to life on the AMA’s red carpet. I think that the gown meshes movie star vibes and music carpet edge perfectly and I think that Jenna would definitely infuse her sultry sex appeal into this look to make it just that much more glamorous. I want to see her add complimentary yet bold accessories including a black and white puzzle Edie Parker ‘Jean’ pop resin clutch, a pair of dress blue Schutz ‘Hara’ crystal heel sandals, and Norman Silverman ascher cut diamond drop earrings to old Hollywood waves, a bold defined eye, and a red lip to really ensure this look is absolute perfection.Kat Graham has always been a dark horse when it comes to the looks that I appreciate seeing her wearing on the red carpet. She doesn’t often get her hands on the latest runway fashion and often times ends up in Who Wore it Better polls. So with that in mind I went on a search for the perfect dress for her to wear on the AMA’s red carpet tomorrow where she is presenting. As many regular readers my know at this point I have been all about vintage red carpet moments lately. I have seen so many amazing pieces pop up online from prestigious vintage retailers like Decades, Shrimpton Couture, William Vintage, and more. So I started thinking that since she has had so many vintage moment in the past that she would be the perfect person to bring a major vintage moment to this red carpet. I would love to see her step onto the carpet tomorrow night wearing this Vintage 1994 Atelier Versace by Gianni Versace cocktail dress which features a velvet gold lame leopard print  bustier swathed in draped gold chainmail. This dress is the epitome of the Versace brand and since Donatella just reissued many of her brothers big hits for the brands Spring 2018 RTW collection this dress also feels very ‘now.’ The hyper sexiness of this dress is perfect for a music awards red carpet. There isn’t really another kind of carpet this look would really work. I think that this look would be perfectly complete with a sleek straightened bob, smokey black and gold eyes, a nude lip, and a pair of gold velvet RAYE ‘Blake’ sandals.Kelly Clarkson isn’t one that ever pushes boundaries on the red carpet. Honestly I can’t say that I remember anything that she has worn on a red carpet in the past. I don’t think that she will wear anything groundbreaking tomorrow ahead of her performance, but I do think that she will wear something chic and elegant. I think that this wine colored textured crepe Tadashi Shoji tiered gown which features a scoop neck and cap sleeve would fit the bill to make a really perfect red carpet gown for her. I think Kelly has finally accepted that she is comfortable in her curves and Tadashi is one of the designers who really celebrates women with curves. I think that this gown would be perfection on Kelly and I think that this could be such a chic and elegant moment on the AMA’s red carpet. With a pair of sangria red velvet Raye ‘Blake’ sandals, old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, a matte pink lip, and simple Neil Lane diamond chandelier earrings I think that Kelly would look very glamorous.Ever since the purple Elie Saab gown that Lea Michele wore for the Emmy Awards earlier this fall she has been on fire. I am hoping that when she steps out for the American Music Awards that she is still on high form. Brad Goreski styles her and I know I that he can go back and forth with putting out looks that win my favor. I want to the the edgier side of Lea tomorrow night which is why I picked this black Azzaro Fall 2017 Couture strapless mini dress which features silver ombré tired fringe all over. This dress is sexy, edgy, and glamorous and I think that Lea definitely has the diva attitude to make it work on the red carpet. I would further the edge of this look with a pair of thigh high, black velvet Chrissy Teigen x RAYE ‘Como’ boots, a sleek high ponytail, kohl rimmed eyes, a red lip, and Rahaminov black diamond bead earrings to really turn this look into that major edgy glam moment I am craving from Lea. Last, but certainly not least, is perhaps one of the people I never thought would be on the American Music Awards red carpet, Viola Davis. When I think of Viola I don’t think music awards show. I think Emmy’s and Oscar’s, so I wonder what she will bring to the AMA’s tomorrow night. She has been loving color and glamour this year so when I saw the lookbook for the Escada Pre-Fall 2018 collection and this red ruffle draped column gown which features a plunging neckline and a side slit I immediately thought of Viola. This might be an uber conservative dress for the AMA’s red carpet, but I think that Viola will deliver something like this or a draped Vivienne Westwood corseted mini dress. I personally think that this dress is amazing and that Viola would look so incredibly chic rocking it on any red carpet. I wanted to infuse some non standard details to finish this look so I would want to see Viola add a sparkling red coral patter Judith Leiber Couture crystal rectangle clutch, coral red Manolo Blhanik ‘Cienzona’ embellished sandals, and statement coral and diamond vintage Van Cleef & Arpels earrings to a curly bob, smokey eye, and a glossy nude lip to add the perfect visual details to elevate this gown to the AMA’s red carpet.

The 2017 American Music Awards will take place tomorrow Sunday November 19, 2017.
