2017 Baby2Baby Gala Red Carpet Wish List

Every year Baby2Baby hosts a star studded gala which raises money to help fund its mission to provide low-income children ages 0-12 years with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. By distributing to non-profit partner organizations including homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, foster care programs and children’s hospitals, Baby2Baby will serve more than 150,000 children in Los Angeles this year and tens of thousands more across the country through the Baby2Baby National Network. There are always some of the hottest and most stylist moms in Hollywood on the red carpet at this gala and they usually bring great fashion, so I am really excited for this gala which will take place on Saturday November 11, 2017.Gwyneth Paltrow will be presented with the Giving Tree Award at this years Baby2Baby gala. Baby2Baby co-presidents Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein said of Gwyneth, “Throughout Gwyneth’s long history of philanthropic work, she has been a champion of issues ranging from improving education, to fighting poverty, to combating hunger in underserved communities…Gwyneth’s dedication to children in need perfectly embodies the Baby2Baby spirit.” For the red carpet I would love to see Gwyneth deliver this very chic Valentino Spring 2018 RTW ruffled one shoulder gown. When I saw this gown come down the runway during Paris Fashion Week Gwyneth was the first person that came to mind. It does kind of remind me of the pink Ralph & Russo Couture gown that she wore for the 2015 Academy Awards, but I think that this dress is different enough that the comparisons would most likely be minimal or non-existent. With a pair of light pink velvet Valentino bow detail sandals, a sleek low bun, defined eyes, a glossy pink lip, and a pair of vintage pink coral and diamond wreath earrings Gwyneth would be the epitome of glamour. Jessica Alba is on the Baby2Baby organization board of directors and she is always on the red carpet at their annual gala. Jessica is currently pregnant with her third child with hubby Cash Warren, and they are expecting their first son. Jessica has always gone the route of wearing flowing dressed draped over her baby bumps and I am expecting that when she steps onto the red carpet at the 2017 Baby2Baby gala. I totally thought about Jessica when I saw this white and navy Tory Burch Spring 2018 RTW strapless pleated silk gown which features a sheath silhouette and macrame inserts come down the runway. While the gown might be a little more casual than one might normally pull for a gala red carpet I think that Jessica would definitely take this dress and make it a really elegant moment on the red carpet. I think that the key to making this look lies in how Jessica styles it. Rounding this look out with a light blue Judith Leiber Couture ‘Sloane Mini’ metallic crocodile leather evening clutch, old Hollywood waves, a bright pink lip, a light smokey eye, a pair of navy Schutz ‘Hara’ crystal heel sandals, and dazzling sapphire, diamonds, and emerald Harry Winston drop earrings would ensure that Jessica is nothing but perfection. Kerry Washington is one of the ‘Angels’ of this years Baby2Baby gala and I am really hoping that means that she will make an appearance. Kerry has attended twice in the past wearing Oscar de la Renta in 2014 and Giambattista Valli Couture in 2015. Last year Kerry had just given birth to her second child weeks before the 2016 gala so she opted not to attend then. I hope that she will be on the red carpet this year and I think that this black Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 RTW tea length gown which features a straight strapless neckline, cornflower blue tulle draped sleeves, a corseted bodice, and multicolored paillettes sprinkled throughout would be a perfect look for her to rock. This dress is visually impactful while still maintaining a very chic and feminine air. I would up the glamour of the look pairing it with loose waves, a smokey eye, red lip, black Judith Leiber Couture ‘Speccio’ faceted box clutch, navy blue Miu Miu jeweled satin slingback pumps, and a pair of dainty ruby Fred Leighton chandelier earrings.Nicole Richie, like Jessica Alba, is on the board of directors for Baby2Baby and is a usual guest at the annual gala. I went to a really dramatic place for her gown for this years red carpet, when in reality Nicole has really only worn very simple silhouettes in the past. I really do think that Nicole would look phenomenal wearing this midnight blue Marchesa Fall 2017 RTW ball gown which features a plunging neckline, velvet ribbon details, and two tiered skirt with 3D silk ombré roses. The gown eludes to a lot of dark romanticism that we saw on the runways for fall and I know that Nicole would definitely take this gown and make it a truly major moment on the red carpet. With a sleek low bun, smokey eye, nude lip, black Steve Madden ‘Circuit’ sandals, and a pair of dazzling Lorraine Schwartz chandelier earrings Nicole would definitely be in contention for best dressed.Former celebrity stylist turned designer Rachel Zoe is also on the Baby2Baby board of directors. I decided that it was finally time to give Rachel her first wish on this blog and pick a gown for her to wear for the 2017 Baby2Baby Gala. As a designer we know that Rachel will almost surely wear a design of her own creation. I think that she would look very chic wearing this white strapless gown which features a tiered skirt from her Rachel Zoe Resort 2018 collection and the Baby2Baby gala red carpet would be a really great moment for her to give it a red carpet run. The white gown is a perfect canvas for some major accessories, and anyone who knows anything about Rachel knows she loves accessories. I think that if Rachel took this gown and styled it with a loose romantic updo, a blue, green, and white Rafe ‘Alicia’ geometric shell minaudiere, a pair of her silver Rachel Zoe ‘Hayworth’ pumps, and some really great statement emerald, opal, and diamond Lorraine Schwartz door knocker earrings and added a pink lip that she would “shut it down.”
