The next awards show that we have to look forward to is the red carpet at the 2017 InStyle Awards on Monday October 23, 2017. Hosted by InStyle editor-in-chief Laura Brown, the third annual awards ceremony will honor style icon Cate Blanchett, style star Zendaya, breakthrough style star Elle Fanning, stylist of the year Petra Flannery, designer of the year Pierpaolo Piccioli of Valentino, advocate award winner Demi Lovato, makeup artist of the year Hung Vanngo, and hairstylist of the year Harry Josh. Each year the red carpet seems to get better and better when it comes to the fashion one see’s on the red carpet. From Kate Hudson in Giles to Nicole Kidman in Atelier Versace to Gwyneth Paltrow in Schiaparelli Couture stars bring it on this red carpet and I am expecting some major best dressed of the year worthy moments from the ladies who are being honored this year.I have to say that while she is almost always one of my favorites to see on the red carpet and totally deserving of the title style icon Cate Blanchett hasn’t wowed me this year. I am hoping that when she steps onto the red carpet at the InStyle Awards she is on top form. Laura Brown says that Cate is the perfect person to receive the Style Icon Award “because she’s always resolutely herself, fearless and experimental. And we don’t use the word ‘icon’ lightly.” And I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree. I have a feeling that Cate wearing Calvin Klein by Raf Simons is inevitable and I think that what better place to make that debut than on a red carpet where she is being honored for her style. I think that this beautiful yellow, white, and blue fringe Calvin Klein Spring 2018 RTW midi dress would make for a truly beautiful, statement making moment on the red carpet at the InStyle Awards. I want Cate to style this look like a modern flapper pairing it with a vintage inspired bob, smokey eye, light pink lip, yellow Givenchy classic pearlescent suede sandals, and a pair of yellow diamond Chopard drop earrings. Demi Lovato has stood up for several causes from political candidates, to social justice for Women and LGBT people, people with depression and bipolar disorder, and people with eating disorders. I would think that Demi is the perfect candidate to receive the advocate award. What I love about the fashion industry is that while we can be seen as surface level and self involved there is actually a huge spirit of advocacy and mobilization for causes that matter to them. When I thought of Demi walking this red carpet my mind immediately went to Tom Ford so I went shopping. I found this gold and silver Tom Ford metal embroidered long sleeve pencil dress from Neiman Marcus and immediately fell in love. Demi has recently really showed a much more sophisticated side of her style, thanks to power image consultant Law Roach, and I think that this dress would fit in perfectly with her current aesthetic. With a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ pumps, loose waves, smokey eye, and nude lips Demi will look amazing.Elle Fanning has really worked her style this year. She was debuted as a face of L’Oreal Paris on top of promoting two films at the Cannes Film Festival and she is showing no signs of slowing down. I feel like in the last year Elle has stepped out of her sisters shadow and really made her own mark on the red carpet scene. I would love to see Elle step out on the red carpet at the InStyle Awards to receive breakthrough style star award wearing this baby pink tulle Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture gown which features a plunging neckline and a sheer a-line skirt. This gown is the definition of ethereal and I think that Elle would definitely rock this gown on a red carpet. With a sleek low bun, winged eyeliner, pink lippie, Christian Louboutin ‘Feerica’ crystal embellished pumps, and Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and pink sapphire drop earrings and floral ring Elle will just shine like the breakthrough star that she is. Rounding out this list is the always gorgeous Zendaya who will be receiving the style star award at this years InStyle Awards. Laura Brown said “Zendaya is the most electric new talent we have witnessed in years with her her eclectic, fuss-free street style and her daring red carpet choices. Her collaboration with Law Roach is truly inspiring.” I echo these sentiments. I find it very hard not to fall in love with one of Zendaya’s red carpet moments and I am sure that she will not disappoint me on the red carpet at the InStyle Awards. I went to Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture halter gown which features an embroidered bodice and a tiered fringe skirt because I think that it is the perfect embodiment of the fall fringe trend and Zendaya has the presence to really make it come to life on the red carpet. I think that with a vintage inspired updo, smokey eye, pink lip, silver Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ crystal heel sandals, and a pair of diamond Chopard peacock feather drop earrings Zendaya will own the InStyle Awards red carpet.
