2017 Emmy Awards: Presenter Wish List Part 1

We are in the final countdown to this years Emmy Awards. Just two more days until this years ceremony and now that presenters are being announced I am getting even more excited than I already was for this years red carpet. The nominees are already enough to get me really excited about what is to come and now there are some really great names being added to the lineup of presenters who will just add to the glamour of the evening. The 2017 Emmy Awards will be the first public appearance that Anna Faris will make since she announced that she and Chris Pratt are separating. I hope that she will not take the route so many recently divorced women do on the red carpet and wear something black, matronly, or way too uber sexy. I love that Anna has this flirty and bubbly style on the red carpet and I hope that is what we see when she steps out on Sunday night. I would love to see her snatch this shimmering pink Badgley Mischka Spring 2018 RTW a-line gown which features a floral embroidered bodice with a plunging neckline. I know this gown is right up Anna’s style ally and I think that it would be a perfect look for the actress to wear as an Emmy presenter. Since the top of the gown is so busy I would style it very simply with a romantic updo, smokey eye, nude glossy lip, and a pair of gold Jeffrey Campbell ‘Obus’ sandals to really make this look the perfect bounce back look.Edie Falco isn’t usually one that I enjoy seeing on the red carpet and I grappled back and forth on whether or not I was going to feature her in my wishes for this years Emmy’s. It was this black Rachel Zoe Fall 2017 RTW long sleeve, completely beaded wrap dress that ultimately changed my mind. I think that the gown would be the perfect match for Edie to wear on the Emmy Awards red carpet. The gown is classic and very glamorous and I think that that the shape would flatter all of Edie’s curves, that she often hides under silky tent dresses. Simple accessories with a black Prada snakeskin box clutch, a loose wavy bob, smokey eye, nude lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals would round out this look beautifully. When I saw that Jessica Biel was going to present at the Emmy Awards this year I got really excited. I was hoping that with her new series The Sinner starting recently I was holding out hope that she would present and here we are. Jessica has a close relationship with couture designer Giambattista Valli and I would really love to see wear wearing the brand on the red carpet on Sunday night. I think that Jessica would look so incredibly flirty and feminine on the Emmy red carpet wearing this blush pink Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture tulle gown with a boned exposed corset bodice, a 3D floral embroidered sweetheart neckline, and an a-line skirt. This floaty and frothy confection could come across as too sugary sweet on some, but I think that Jessica could bring the right amount of attitude and edge to this look to make it something flirty and edgy on the red carpet. The trick to maintaining edge over sugar is all in the styling. I think that with a sleek straight hairstyle with blunt bangs, a smokey eye, rose pink lips, a selection of diamond rings, a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti three strap sandals, and a pair of pink diamond drop earrings that Jessica will totally own this look on the Emmy Awards red carpet.Lea Michele was among the first of the presenters announced for this years Emmy Awards and I am really excited to see what she will wear. I have seen some Snapchats about Lea’s fittings from her stylist Brad Goreski and I have a feeling it will be something feathered. Feathers are a huge trend for fall, and already seeing that they are transitioning to the spring collections. I had a feathered option for Lea, but then Lorde wore it to the VMA’s. I was looking for another feathered option, but then I was watching the new collections come in from New York Fashion Week and saw this Dennis Basso Spring 2018 RTW strapless gown which features a turquoise embellished bustier and a draped burnt orange silk wrapped skirt with a dramatic thigh high slit. We don’t often see Dennis Basso on the red carpet, and Lea has never worn the brand before, but I think that for the Emmy’s as a presenter that this gown would definitely pop. With the gown being such a major statement all on its own I would love to see Lea style it with a chic updo, smokey eye, pink lip, turquoise and diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of gold Jimmy Choo ‘Helen’ sandals.Oprah stared on television in this year in The Immoral Life of Henrietta Lacks and most were surprised that she was not nominated for her performance in the made for television movie. With her big blockbuster film A Wrinkle in Time expected in March of 2018 I am expecting that we will be seeing a lot of Oprah on the red carpets over the coming months. Oprah has been one who has scaled the spectrum of sizes and no matter what her body shape is she always looks great. Right now she is on the slimmer side of her spectrum and I am expecting to see a really confident Oprah on the Emmy Awards red carpet this weekend. I would adore seeing Oprah wearing this Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 RTW gown which features a a gold sequined bodice with bateau neckline and full length sleeves, and a blush full length fit to flare skirt. We have seen Oprah wearing Carolina Herrera on the red carpet before and I think that this off the runway gown would be perfection. A full curly hairstyle pulled back off of her face, a smokey eye, nude lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of gold Manolo Blhanik ‘Allura’ metallic leather slingback pumps would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Oprah.
