The race for Best Actress in a Comedy Series this year has gotten a lot more glamorous. Most of the time I find that the women nominated for comedy are not really embraced by the fashion community. They don’t get nominated for Oscars as often and that just means that in the scheme of things that they don’t rank as high on the runway snatching pecking order. Mom star Allison Janney is one of the comediennes who usually don’t get the a-list level brands like Marchesa, Ralph Lauren, Monique Lhuillier, or anything European. For her Emmy look I went to New York based brand Jeffery Dodd and this awesome vibrant purple long sleeve column gown which has an abstract water print from the Fall 2017 RTW collection. I think that this would be a string, bold, and modern statement for Allison to wear on the red carpet at the Emmy’s. I would love to see this Allison go very sleek with the styling of this look with a sleek ponytail, smokey eye, glossy pink lip, and a pair of silver Casadei ‘Techno Blade’ pumps to really make it a major red carpet moment. Ellie Kemper is one of the stars that I am really looking forward to seeing on the Emmy red carpet later this month. Usually Ellie loves color and pattern on the red carpet and that almost always make me take notice. I am expecting her to bring a major look on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards this year where her work in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has earned her a nomination. Usually Ellie wears fitted column gowns on the red carpet, but I really want to see her wearing this yellow and pink Marchesa Resort 2018 a-line gown which features a strapless neckline, back bow drape, and a floral printed design throughout. This was the easiest pick for me to make for this red carpet. I love this gown and I think that Ellie is one of the few that could make it a totally magical red carpet moment. I think that Ellie is the only redhead that I could see wearing this gown and I think that the yellow and pink against her peachy skin tone and red hair would be perfection. Really ensuring that this gown is perfection would mean pairing it with a sleek updo, lined eye, bright pink lip, gold Steve Madden ‘Satire’ strappy sandals, gold set diamond drop earrings, and a hot pink satin Salvatore Ferragamo ‘Gancio’ clutch. Jane Fonda has me worried about her fall style after picking two very not Jane red carpet moments at the Venice Film Festival. I am hoping they were just a blip and that when she steps out for the Emmy Awards, where she is nominated for her role in Grace & Frankie, that she is on top form. I actually picked this Schiaparelli Fall 2017 Couture long sleeve gown which features a pleated chiffon skirt and beaded abstract jewellery before I picked the looks I did for her Venice appearances. I think that this gown is a perfect Emmy’s gown especially for Jane. This is the first time that Jane has been nominated at the Emmy’s in a leading role since 1984 and I am really hoping for something amazing. When styling this look I would keep Jane’s signature hairstyle adding a lined eye, pink lip, yellow Bottega Veneta knot clasp weaved satin clutch, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black Schutz ‘Natally’ sandals to really make it awesome.Julia Louis-Dreyfus is constantly nominated for an Emmy Award. I am dubbing her the Meryl Streep of the Emmy Awards. Meryl is almost always nominated for an Oscar so I feel like Julia is the person with the nominations at the Emmy’s always on lock. Sadly Julia is not a real fashion star. She usually wears black on the red carpet and I bet it won’t be much of anything different on the red carpet at the 2017 Emmy Awards. I went with this smokey grey and black Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier Resort 2018 gown which features a strapless sweetheart neckline peplum bustier and a trumpet skirt for Julia because while it is firmly in her comfort zone, I think that it would be such a chic and elegant moment for her on the Emmy’s red carpet. I would love to see Julia add a statement emerald earring, chic updo, red lip, smokey eye, grey glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Fiema’ clutch, and a pair of grey velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Lucy’ pumps to make this look beautiful.Tracee Ellis Ross is my favorite this year to take home the Emmy for her role in Black-ish after taking home the Golden Globe for her performance earlier this year. I would love to see Tracee really have her first major couture moment on the red carpet after she attended a bunch of the shows back in July. I think I would drop dead if Tracee stepped out on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards wearing this grey chainmail strapless Ralph & Russo column gown overlaid in black tulle with a feathered hemline. I think that this gown screams glamour and elegance and I think that if anyone could make it work on the Emmy red carpet then it would definitely be Tracee. I think a tied back afro, red lip, smokey eye, diamond cluster earrings, a grey Edie Parker ‘Wolf’ glitter acrylic clutch, and a pair of amazing grey Jimmy Choo ‘Karima’ crystal embellished sandals that I would have to be revived from all the glamour of this ensemble.
