2017 Emmy Awards: Best Actress in a Drama Series Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

With my wishes for Venice and TIFF firmly behind me now I am moving on to the next major red carpet event, the 2017 Emmy Awards. I am predicting that the red carpet at this years Emmy Awards will be the most glamorous yet. With so many stars who are killing the red carpet lately I am really looking forward to seeing what all the stars wear on the red carpet this year. As usual I am kicking off my wishes for the lovely ladies who are nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Earlier this year Claire Foy won both the Golden Globe and SAG Award for her role in The Crown an now it has earned her an Emmy nomination. Since then the race for this award seems to have gotten a lot harder. I am wondering what the outcome of this years race will hold in store. I cannot say that I got into The Crown like I have other shows. I didn’t even finish watching the whole season. Claire is beautiful and I believe that she could have a major moment for the Emmy Awards red carpet, especially since she is a front runner for the award this year. I went for it with the couture this year because the TV stars are really going for it. I would love to see Claire step out wearing this moss green Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture strapless tulle ball gown with poppy embroidery. Claire loves a floral, bohemian moment on the red carpet and I think that this gown is the perfect elevation of that for a red carpet. Usually Claire sticks to representing British brands on the red carpet, but I just think that this gown would truly elevate her to the level of fashion star on the red carpet. Elisabeth Moss is the other front runner to take home this trophy for her role as Offred in the hit Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale. The rumor wonders if Elisabeth, or the show, will be able to take home any trophy’s because of the Emmy’s voting bodies interconnections with the church of Scientology. The shows comparisons to the church have offended and it could cost Elisabeth her trophy. I would imagine that Elisabeth will still deliver her best red carpet moment of the year. I would let my jaw drop for this black Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture strapless tired ball gown which feature multicolored thread details and an embellished bustier if Elisabeth wore it on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards. Like I mentioned above couture isn’t really the first thing that one thinks of when it comes to the Emmy’s red carpet, but Elisabeth being one of the top stars on this red carpet couture could definitely be in play. Westworld is one of my favorite new shows. I binged the whole season in 3 days. I was very excited to see that Evan Rachel Wood had earned a nomination for her performance in the show at this years awards confirming that she would be in attendance. Evan made the commitment to wearing great pants ensembles on the red carpet this year when she stepped out on the Globes red carpet wearing a custom Altuzarra tuxedo and she hasn’t faltered yet. Most of her looks including her SAG and Met Gala looks have come courtesy of Altuzarra, but I am expanding her repertoire of the pants designers by wishing for her to wear this completely Swarovski crystal encrusted Brandon Maxwell Fall 2017 RTW suit. I am surprised that no one snatched this suit up for a red carpet, mostly Lady Gaga, and with the new collection just days away from being presented I don’t want this look to be lost to an archive. I would love to see Evan really shut down the Emmy’s red carpet wearing this sleek and very extra suit. I would want to see her go top and bra-less under the suit adding a dramatic diamond necklace that likens to a necktie. Keri Russell is nominated for her performance in The Americans for the second year in a row. Last year Keri brought couture to the red carpet wearing Stephane Rolland Couture. That gown was slightly underwhelming, especially for a Stephane Rolland gown. I think that this purple Elie Saab Fall 2017 RTW ruffled lace gown with a plunging neckline would definitely redeem herself. Keri isn’t one of my favorites to see on the red carpet, but this gown would definitely put her on the maps. House of Cards has earned Robin Wright a nomination in this category every year since 2013 and surprisingly has not won yet. I would love to see Robin really go for it with her look on the red carpet this year. I think that she would deliver sleek modernity wearing this long sleeve, black Stephane Rolland Fall 2017 Couture caped sheath gown with a dramatic center split. I am surprised that Robin has never worn on of Stephane’s designs on the red carpet before, but I think that this gown would make for a dramatic moment on the Emmy’s red carpet. Most years the step and repeat is light but last year it was black. I hope that it is light colored this year because a gown like this would be lost against a black step and repeat.Viola Davis has been nominated for How to Get Away with Murder three years running now, winning only once in 2015. After a wonderful run this awards season winning an Oscar for her role in Fences I am hoping that Viola will be on top form at the Emmy Awards this year. Viola loves color so it was an easy option for me to choose this absolutely beautiful burnt orange Prabal Gurung Resort 2018 gown which features a plunging v neckline and ruffled shoulders for her to wear on the Emmy Awards red carpet. The gown is simple and elegant and the color truly makes it. While it may not be as dramatic as some of the other gowns I picked I think that for an actress fresh off an Oscar win that this gown is the perfect look for Viola to wear for the Emmy Awards.
