2017 Venice Film Festival: Franca Sozzani Award Ceremony Red Carpet Wish List

Last year at the 2016 Venice Film Festival the late Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani was feted  at the premiere of the documentary Franca: Chaos and Creation. In December we lost Franca to her battle with cancer. In her honor a special honor will be handed out bearing her name annually at the Venice Film Festival. The inaugural recipient of the Franca Sozzani Award will be the beautiful Julianne Moore who was chosen by a jury that consisted of Franca’s son Francesco Carrozzini, her sister Carla, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Donatella Versace, and more because “with the same strength and determination of Franca, [she] combined the excellence in art with a strong civil and social commitment.”I am really excited to see what Julianne Moore, who is also presenting her film Suburbicon at the Venice Film Festival, will wear for this awards presentation on September 1, 2017. I was inspired by Franca who attended the Venice Film Festival last year for the last time wearing a beautiful Giambattista Valli Couture gown. I think that Julianne would look so incredibly chic walking the red carpet at this awards ceremony on the Venice Lido wearing this absolutely beautiful deep wine purple Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture flowing gown which features a plunging neckline, peplum waist, and flowing skirt. This color would look absolutely beautiful on Julianne, and is one I cannon recall her wearing on the red carpet in the past. I think that this tone of purple would compliment Julianne’s skin tone and red hair would really make this color really pop. I would love to see her pair this gown with a contrasting yellow gold set statement stone necklace that fills the open neckline, a pair of matching sandals, chic updo, smokey eye, and a nude lip to really make this a totally beautiful moment on the red carpet. Paying perfect homage to Franca’s legacy.

The 2017 Venice Film Festival Opens on August 30, 2017 and runs through September 9, 2017.
