Next Wednesday (August 30, 2017) the 2017 Venice Film Festival will kick off with a big premiere of Downsizing, just 10 days later the festival will come to a close on September 9, 2017. I don’t know what the closing film of this years festival is or if they are taking a Cannes approach and screening the winning film, but I do know that the jury will be back on the red carpet one last time. President of the main competition jury Annette Bening has some high expectations when it comes to her style over the course of this years festival. I am hoping for really beautiful showcase of style from the beginning of the festival to the close. From the Elie Saab gown I want to see Annette wearing for the opening to the looks from J. Mendel, Elie Saab, and Georges Chakra gowns I want to see her wear for the premieres. Finishing her run in this gorgeous emerald green Alexis Mabille Pre-Fall 2017 gown which features a square neckline, full length sleeves, gold button details, and an a-line maxi skirt would ensure that Annette really goes out in high style. I have been wanting to see this gown on a red carpet since I first saw the lookbook back in January and with so many collections that have come since I fear that it has been lost, but I am putting out hope that Annette will snatch up this gown and give it the beautiful and regal moment that it really deserves on a red carpet. With a pair of simple gold pumps, gold set diamond cluster earrings, and a bold red lip I think that Annette would end the festival in a major moment. The Venice Film Festival closing ceremony will be the last chance for Anna Mouglalis to give us a major Chanel moment on the red carpet. As I have now said several times I totally believe that from open to close I think that Anna will exclusively wear Chanel on the red carpets of this years festival. I think that she will give us a mix of current season and archive looks from ready-to-wear, couture, and cruise. I loved this grey Chanel Spring 2017 Couture column gown with a tiered skirt, plunging neckline, and a belted waist on the runway and I have to say this was probably one of the looks from all of the Spring 2017 Couture collections that I was most shocked not be be worn during awards season or at the Cannes Film Festival. I think that Anna, with her statuesque glamour, would make this look come to life beautifully on the red carpet. It is a very modern take on glamour and I think that for an occasion such as the Venice Film Festival closing ceremony that this would make for a beautiful moment. I would go very glam with the styling adding a red lip, Veronica Lake waves, a diamond necklace, a silver clutch, and a pair of silver pumps to really punctuate this as a modern glam red carpet moment. My final wish for Rebecca Hall is probably my most tame. Out of any of the looks that I picked it is hard for me to pick a favorite. I would want to see Rebecca finish her festival run in away that really emphasizes everything that glamour personifies. I think that this beautiful gold lamé Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 RTW column gown which features cap sleeves, a beaded waist, and a open portrait style neckline is that perfect embodiment of glamour for Rebecca to close out the 2017 Venice Film Festival with. I think that with a loose updo, smokey bronze eye, nude lip, gold set diamond drop earrings, a pair of gold sandals, and a gold satin Bottega Veneta clutch that Rebecca would ensure that she has another absolutely beautiful moment on the Venice Film Festival red carpet.
