2017 Venice Film Festival: “The Private Life of a Modern Woman” Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Yesterday I made my wishes for the final in competition premiere at the 2017 Venice Film Festival, but that doesn’t mean that I am done with wishes for this years festival. I still have a few more to go before I move onto my VMA wishes. The Private Life of a Modern Woman is premiering out of competition at this years festival and I am really excited for this red carpet. Sienna Miller is one of my favorite red carpet fashionistas and since she hasn’t been on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival since 2005, I am really hoping that she returns in high style. I think that for her photocall I would love to see Sienna step onto the stage wearing this beautiful edgy meets flirty blue and barely pink Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 RTW floral printed matte satin dress which features hook and eye embellishments, a feminine printed design, and a layered construction. Sienna has had some very beautiful moments in Proenza and I think that this would be an absolutely beautiful look for her to wear for a photocall in Venice. With a pair of contrasting blue floral print Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals loose waves, a winged eye, and a bright pink lip Sienna would for sure be photocall ready. For the premiere of The Private Life of a Modern Woman I went to bohemian glamour for Sienna. She loves herself a really good bohemian glam moment on the red carpet and I think that this green strapless Valentino Fall 2017 Couture trapeze gown which features beautiful crochet lace details, a sweetheart neckline, and some color contrast details that really make this an even more special gown for Sienna to wear on the red carpet. I really went for glam with the styling adding a gold Judith Leiber ‘Couture Crystal Egg’ clutch, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Sundance Plateau’ metallic platform sandals, in addition to a pair of diamond, peridot, coral, and gold Bulgari pendant drop earrings. A loose romantic updo, smokey eye, and a nude lip would add all of the perfect finishing touches to this look for Sienna.I am really hoping for big things from Annette Bening as she makes the rounds as president of this years main competition jury. I have gone for very classic and feminine gowns for the most part to this point for Annette to wear this year, but for this wish I went for something much more bold and dramatic. As I was shopping through the collections for the perfect looks for Annette to wear this year I mostly picked looks I could really see Annette gravitating towards wearing, but I also slipped in a few true wishes. This beautiful purple Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture gown which is sheer on the runway, but would have to be lined for Annette, is a definite nod to 80’s glamour for Annette to rock on a red carpet. The beading on the cap sleeve column gown is intricate and beautiful and the metallic organza a-line train just ups the glamour of it all even more. A pair of silver pumps, red lip, winged eye, diamond cluster earrings, and sleek hairstyle would further make this look even more glamorous. I was going to originally pick Dior for Sienna to wear for the premiere of The Private Life of a Modern Woman, but in the end I really loved that Valentino gown. Rebecca Hall, the English actress and main competition jury member, is my hope for consistent glamour from this years jury and I would bet that at least one of her looks comes courtesy of Dior. I would love to see Rebecca take this sunset red Christian Dior Cruise 2018 feathered dress and have it modified to a full length gown with a bit of a train to make it a really dramatic moment on the red carpet at the festival. With a romantic updo, smokey eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of red Gianvito Rossi asymmetric strappy patent leather sandals Rebecca will shut down the Venice Film Festival red carpet.

The 2017 Venice Film Festival opens on August 30, 2017 and runs through September 9, 2017.
