The 2017 Venice Film Festival is just a week and a half away from opening and I grow more and more excited every single day. The festival features films packed with stars who usually bring it on the red carpet, and I am expecting none the less from all of them over the course of this years festival. The premieres of La Fidele and Brawl in Cell Block 99 are out of competition gala premieres so I have high expectations for the stars of these film to really deliver gorgeous moments on the red carpet in Venice. French actress Adele Exarchopoulos has been on the red carpet scene for a while now. She burst to red carpet stardom after winning the Palme D’Or with Lea Seydoux for their film Blue is the Warmest Color. Now Adele is following in Lea’s footsteps wearing nothing but Louis Vuitton on the red carpet. While out in Venice to promote her latest feature La Fidele I have a feeling that it will once again be Louis Vuitton that she turns to for all of her red carpet moments. Adele was the first person to wear the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018 collection on the red carpet selecting a short gold pailette handkerchief dress for the Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Soiree. For the films photocall I would love to see Adele wear this chic forest green suede shift dress. I have to say that with stars fascination with all things Louis Vuitton that this dress has not been snatched up yet. I think that for a film festival photocall that this would be a perfect option for Adele to wear. With a pair of black and green Louis Vuitton ‘Rendez Vous’ snakeskin pumps, neutral makeup, and loose waves this look would be styled perfectly. For the premiere I went to another Louis Vuitton Cruise 2018 ensemble. I think that this gold and black peasant gown would fit right into Adele’s laid back, but still dramatic take on glamour for the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival. The look might be compared to a similar look that Emma Watson wore for the Paris photocall for The Circle which hailed from the same collection, but I think that each gown in its own right would work for the occasion at hand. Making this look totally perfect with a pair of black and gold Louis Vuitton ‘Moon Shadow’ sandals, a gold Louis Vuitton ‘Louise RW’ clutch, chic romantic updo, and simple yet metallic makeup will ensure that Adele has a beautiful moment for her first Venice Film Festival premiere. This will be the first time that Jennifer Carpenter has been on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival since 2005. This year Jennifer will present her film Brawl in Cell Block 99 and I am hoping that she will put herself back on the fashion map. Back when she was in the hit show Dexter Jennifer wowed me wearing absolutely glamorous gowns for high profile events. I am hoping that she hasn’t lost her mojo since we haven’t seen her on a major red carpet in such a long time. For the films photocall I went with this very chic and modern take on romanticism from the Jason Wu Fall 2017 RTW collection. This ensemble which features a grasshopper green velvet devore top with a high neck tie and draped cold shoulders and a pair of black embroidered tapered silk pants is perfect for a photocall and I think that Jennifer would look incredibly chic and elegant wearing this creation on a red carpet. Because of the neck and shoulder details of this look I would have Jennifer style the look with a chic ponytail. Adding a lined eye, pink lip, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Mira Bella’ platform sandals would add the perfect finishing touches. For the premiere I went to a much more dramatic gown with this beautiful purple, bead and feather embellished, one shoulder Ziad Nakad Fall 2017 Couture gown which features velvet trim and a dramatic split. This gown is truly worthy of a major film festival red carpet and I think that Jennifer would look so incredibly glamorous walking the red carpet on the Venice Lido in this confection. I would go very glamorous with the styling of this gown adding a dramatic high updo, smokey eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of grey satin Manolo Blahnik ‘Firaduo’ crystal embellished sandals.I decided last minute to throw in this wish for main competition jury member Anna Mouglalis. I was scrolling through collections and I said to myself that I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t picked one of these Grecian goddess gowns from the Chanel Cruise 2018 collection for Anna to wear on the red carpet during the Venice Film Festival. I was trying to figure which of the wishes that I had already planned to swap this gown in for, but I loved them all. So I decided to add it here. I can totally see this gown being a huge hit for Anna. It is much more relaxed than many of the looks that I have already picked for her to wear over the course of this years festival, but I think that it would still be incredibly impactful especially styled with a romantic updo, smokey eye, gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals.
The 2017 Venice Film Festival opens August 30, 2017 and runs through September 9, 2017.
