2017 Venice Film Festival: Jury Photocall Red Carpet Wish List

Well after taking a day off yesterday I am ready to hop on the glamour train that we will ride through the end of the year and all the way into awards season next year. The road to the 2018 Academy Awards will kick off with the opening of the 2017 Venice Film Festival later this month on August 30, 2017. When it comes to the films presented several of the films that have screened at Venice every year we tend to see them nominated for major awards like the Golden Globes and Oscars. Recently the jury of the Venice Film Festival has been getting more and more a-list and fashionable and this year seems to be quite amazing.Annette Bening is the first woman in 11 years that is holding the presidency of the main competition jury at the 2017 Venice Film Festival. I wonder if that has anything to do with the harsh words that Jessica Chastain had about the depiction of women in film at the closing press conference at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Annette has 36 film and television credits under her belt as an actress in addition to four Academy Award nominations, two Golden Globe Award wins and six more nominations. It honestly depends on the day whether or not Annette puts in a whole lot of effort into her styling, but usually when it comes to major events we see Annette deliver her best. The Venice Film Festival is pretty big so I am setting a pretty high bar for all of the looks that we will see from Annette over the course of the festival. Her journey at the festival will kick off with the photocall for the main competition jury. For the photocall I went with a chic elevated take on casual dressing with this white Zac Posen Resort 2018 ensemble which features hand pleated and bead embroidered button down shirt and stretch cady pants. This look is chic and classic which I think is exactly what I think that Annette will wear for this photocall. A simple pair of white pumps and a red lip would ensure that Annette kicks off the Venice Film Festival in high style. Rebecca Hall is probably the most fashionable member of this years Venice Film Festival main competition jury and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpets over the course of this years festival. There are all kinds of major high fashion brands that love Rebecca so I think that we will see her embrace a good portion of them for the red carpets this year. At the main competition jury photocall I want Rebecca to kick things off in high style with this black and white Prabal Gurung Resort 2018 dress which features an off the shoulder design and a flared sleeve and hem. The last time Rebecca was in Venice while promoting her film Une Promesse back in 2013 she attended the premiere of the film wearing a custom Prabal Gurung gown and she looked ever so chic and modern in that black and blue gown so I think that it would be nice to bring that full circle. The dress is pretty classic with a nod to Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn that I would amp up with a sleek low bun, pink lip, and a pair of exotic pink Aquazzura ‘Forever Marilyn’ tassel embellished velvet pumps to really kick off her run in high style. French actress Anna Mouglalis is also on the main competition jury and as a major friend of the house of Chanel that I would imagine that over the course of the festival that we will exclusively see her wearing Chanel on the red carpet. I don’t think I have ever seen Anna wear anything other than Chanel for a public appearance. For the main competition jury photocall I decided that I would like to see Anna bring the couture factor by wearing this chic Chanel Spring 2016 Couture ensemble which features a light blue beaded blouse and a wheat colored tweed midi skirt with a fringed hemline. This look is incredibly chic and gives the Chanel astethic a chic bohemian take and I think that it would make for the perfect look for Anna to kick off her run at the Venice Film Festival. Adding a pair of simple gold sandals and loose waves will ensure that this look is styled perfectly.

The 2017 Venice Film Festival opens on August 30, 2017 and runs through September 9, 2017.
