The 2017 Teen Choice Awards are set to take place this Sunday August 13, 2017. Usually I don’t get that excited about the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards because even though the ranks of the nominations are filled with huge stars, but a very small fraction of the big stars usually show up. I have this feeling that this year we will have a really major red carpet with some of the confirmed presenters and performers. Before we get to the nominees, presenters, and performers though I have wishes for one half of this years hosting duo. Former Nickelodeon starlet Victoria Justice is going to join WWE star John Cena to share the hosting duties at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards this weekend. When they announced this paring as this years hosts all I did was scratch my head. I would never have thought to pair those two together, so I am interested in seeing what they are going to bring to the stage as their back and forth witty banter. Victoria has definitely been one to keep eyes on when it comes to her red carpet style. I am waiting to see what will happen to her as she starts taking more serious acting gigs in effort to shake her Nickelodeon star image. We have seen many big brands embrace Victoria at one point or another, so I think that her wardrobe on Sunday will be really good one way or another. Couture isn’t usually the first thing I think of when it comes to the Teen Choice Awards red carpet, but I think that Victoria would look amazing wearing this raspberry red Azzaro Fall 2017 Couture beaded suede fringe sleeveless mini dress. I think that for the red carpet portion of her wardrobe that this would be a really fun moment for Victoria to have on the red carpet. The dress is perfect for the transition from bright summer colors to the more heavy fabrics and darker colors of fall. When it comes to making this look even more fun I think that Victoria should pair this look with matching raspberry red acrylic clutch, smokey eye, glossy nude lip, pin straight locks, and a pair of grey Aquazzura ‘Monaco’ beaded sandals to kick off her evening in high style. I am sure that Victoria will have several requisite wardrobe changes as the evening goes on at the Teen Choice Awards this weekend. Following the red carpet I went to one of the big brands that Victoria has worn a few times in the past. I would absolutely love to see Victoria open the Teen Choice Awards show wearing this orange/copper Versace Fall 2017 RTW chainmail slip dress. I think that this sexy and classic Versace style would be right up Victoria’s leggy ally and I think that this would make for a fun look to kick the night off with. The dress is classic Versace and I totally think that Victoria could make it totally work, especially pairing it with a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti jeweled 3 strap sandals.
I followed that sexy Versace with a much more flirty and feminine look with this light blue and white lace Tadashi Shoji Resort 2018 off the shoulder, cape playsuit. I think we are going to see a varried set of styles that fully showcase the different sides of Victoria’s style over the course of the evening on Sunday and I think that this would totally showcase that softer and more flirty side of Victoria’s style. Velvet has been the unexpected trend of the summer so I decided to incorporate the trend with a pair of light blue velvet Manolo Blahnik BB pointed toe pumps. With a center paired pin straight hairstyle and a bright pink lip this would be another great look for Victoria.
The Tadashi look was flirty and feminine and I talked about wanting to showcase many sides of Victoria’s style so moving from that to this peach paint heart tapestry printed Zimmermann Resort 2018 dress which features an off the shoulder design, a balloon sleeve, and a mini length might seem a little redundant. I think that while this dress is flirty and feminine that it would also play to the more bohemian side of Victoria’s style. Finishing the look with a pair of fun orange Gianvito Rossi ‘Flora’ ruffled sandals would ensure that Victoria definitely gives us flirty bohemian glamour.
I had to do at least one pants look for Victoria to wear during the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. The star doesn’t do edgy every often so I decided to do an edgy take on flirty and feminine with this red Jenny Packham Fall 2017 RTW ensemble which features a 3-D embroidered cap sleeve top and a pair of skinny leather ankle length pants. This look screams wear me at the Teen Choice Awards and of anyone that is nominated or confirmed to attend that Victoria is the perfect person to bring this look to life. The look is such a statement so I would just add a pretty simple pair of Gianvito Rossi red suede, scalloped edge, ankle strap pumps to complete it for another great hosting look.
To close the show I went back to a true flirty and feminine look with another of the major brands that Victoria is a friend of. In the past we have seen Victoria wear Marchesa on the red carpet several times, most recently with a dramatic gown at the amfAR New York gala earlier this year. Now the Teen Choice Awards is no place for a dramatic gown, but this chic purple strapless Marchesa Resort 2018 floral printed, a-line, mini dress is perfect. The dress screams Victoria and I bet that she wears it at some point. The final dress change means a final shoe change and I think that a pair of silver Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ crystal heel sandals would compliment this dress perfectly.
