Fan Bingbing to wear the Fall 2017 Couture Collections

When it comes to Fan Bingbing, she almost always steps out on a red carpet wearing the best of haute couture. So with that in mind following the Fall 2017 Couture collections being presented at the beginning of last month that I should get some wishes from the label out for Fan to wear as she makes appearances for events that I rarely get much of a heads up about. The Chinese actress has probably had more wishes for her on this site this year than ever with her being on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. I have to say that I was slightly underwhelmed with the choices that Fan made for her festival wardrobe, and I hope that over the course of the fall that she makes some red carpet appearances in dramatic couture to make up for letting me down earlier this year.Alexis Mabille is the first designer on this list. In the past we have seen Fan wear some beautiful creations from the designer on the red carpet in the past and there are several looks from the labels Fall 2017 Couture collection that I could see Fan lusting over and trying to make work into her wardrobe. Ultimately after struggling to cut down my options from the label’s Fall 2017 Couture collection I went with this navy and white ball gown which seems to mesh civil war era drama with the sexy glamour of the film nior era to give this sultry femme fatale ensemble that I definitely think that Fan would be all over wearing on the red carpet. I think that Fan would definitely turn this into a totally femme fatale moment with a dramatic high bun, winged eyeliner, bold red lip, statement diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of probably quadruple stacked platform pumps. Thankfully this gown would definitely cover those ugly horse hoof pumps that fan tends to favor wearing on the red carpet. I find it surprising that we have never seen Fan Bingbing wear a Chanel creation on a red carpet. Her stylist Min Rui is the editor-in-chief of Madame Figaro China and constantly is featuring Chanel in the pages of the magazine, and I would love to see him pull some strings and get the historic fashion house on the back of Mrs. Bingbing. There were a couple of high volume looks in the Chanel Fall 2017 Couture collection that I think would be right up Fan’s ally when it comes to her red carpet dressing. I think that Fan would take this very 80’s off the shoulder gown which features a 3-D floral off the shoulder neckline, sequin embellished 3/4 length sleeves and bodice, and a high low silk bubble skirt and run with the dramatic, yet almost dated glamour of it all. Because the gown does read as very dated it will take the right person to really make it come to life on the red carpet and I think that Fan has the presence to really make it a best dressed worthy moment, instead of a WTF was she thinking head scratcher. Styling this look will be the true test of how well this look can come across. I would have Fan style this look with a chic high bun, smokey eye, pink lip, simple single sole black Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps, and a black clutch to really make this a truly beautiful, statement moment for Fan’s first ever Chanel red carpet ensemble. Of the three big brands that Fan wears a lot of on the red carpet I only added Elie Saab to this list. The Ralph & Russo and Zuhair Murad collections were pretty, but they were more of the same so I wasn’t as in love with them as I was the Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture collection. After Saab’s Spring 2017 Couture collection, which was very mundane and repetitive, I was excited to see a collection that varried vastly in color and shape. I would love to see Fan step onto a red carpet wearing this absolutely stunning black and emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture ball gown which features a sheer organza skirt and crystal and feather embellishments. This look really just makes a very dramatic statement and I know that Fan will ensure that this gown is carried like a major moment. A chic, romantic updo, winged eyes, red lip, emerald and diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of simple black sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.Guo Pei is a Chinese couturier and I can honestly say I am surprised that Fan has never worn any of the brands designs on the red carpet. When we first started to get to know Fan we were introduced to her love of designs that pay homage to her homeland. I love that about her. Now I didn’t pick one of the Chinese printed or embroidered gowns from the Guo Pei Fall 2017 Couture collection, but I am really in love with the idea of Fan delivering dramatic glamour on a red carpet wearing this extremely major silver Guo Pei Fall 2017 Couture ball gown which features a dramatic plunging neckline and a big bow on the waist. This is a true dramatic glam moment and Fan does dramatic glamour better than almost anyone else. I can see Fan with a huge bun, smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of silver strappy sandals. I would love to see Fan keep the diamond and emerald Chopard necklace that the gown was paired with on the runway, and it is totally a piece that I can see her absolutely loving. I was not thrilled with the Valentino Fall 2017 Couture collection, but there are a few standout moments that will make for amazing red carpet moments. This baby pink trapeze gown with a high ruffled neckline was one of the closing looks of this show, and to be honest it is something that I don’t see anyone other than Fan Bingbing really making it work on a red carpet. The gown is definitely something that someone will have to have a lot of presence to really be able to make it work, and Fan has that glamorous presence. Running the look up with a chic and sleek beehive, diamond cluster earrings, a matching pink bag, silver pumps, and a statement diamond bracelet would I think make this another really major moment for Fan.
