“Battle of the Sexes” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Next week we will see the full announcement of the official selection of the 2017 Venice Film Festival and I have heard rumors that Battle of the Sexes may or may not be included. The film is popping up in the rumor mill for a bunch of the fall festivals, so I wonder if it will run an independent set of screenings as well. Regular readers know I love me some Emma Stone, so I would be totally open to it. The film centers on the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs became the most watched televised sports event of all time. The film has the makings of a potential awards season and is garnering buzz for some nominations, so I am expecting a decent tour style wise from Emma who is coming off an Oscar win. Emma Stone has laid very low since her Oscar win just making one appearance in the months following at the AFI Tribute to Diane Keaton ceremony. Emma debuted her return to blonde on that red carpet and I have to say it made me sad. There have been very few red carpet moments that Emma has had with blonde hair that I have loved. Her most glamorous and iconic looks have come when she is a redhead. The red hair just seems to make everything she wears pop, and I hope we see it return sometime soon. Though with her blonde hair in mind I did pick a look that would compliment either hair color. This opera purple Elie Saab Fall 2017 RTW velvet and lace gown which features knotted shoulders, plunging neckline, and a peplum waist is amazing and I do think that Emma would really make it come to life on a red carpet. The gown is elegant and dramatic, the perfect look for an awards season contending film premiere. With either hair color I would want to see Emma wear her hair with old Hollywood waves, a dark purple smokey eye, nude lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of purple velvet sandals to ensure that this gown is an absolutely major moment for her to wear on the red carpet.
