“The Beguiled” NYC Screening Red Carpet Wish List

After Cannes the cast of The Beguiled haven’t slowed down at all. I am hoping that we are seeing the promo tour for the first Oscar contender of the year. The film received much praise at Cannes including a win for Best Director and nominated for the Palme d’Or. Each of the leading ladies of this film killed the red carpet at Cannes and I am praying that will continue through the premiere in NYC tomorrow night. Elle Fanning has really become one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet. I went from finding Elle to be ever so lackluster to putting her on all kinds of best dressed lists, and I am really happy that one of the Fanning sisters has embraced true glamour and has stopped acting awkward on a red carpet. I am very interested in seeing what Elle will wear for this premiere after the custom Rodarte gown she wore for the Cannes premiere and the dark Naeem Khan gown she wore for the LA premiere. I would love to see Elle give a feminine take on menswear wearing this black and white Oscar de la Renta Resort 2018 ensemble which features a sequin embroidered strapless top with a dramatic sash waist and skinny cropped trousers. Elle is very much a girlie girl who loves to wear a dress, but I think that stepping out of that with this look would add a nice bit of variety to her looks. I think that with a tight bun, dramatic winged eye, bright pink lip, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps that this would be yet another amazing moment for Elle. Kirsten Dunst brought goddess glamour to the red carpet at the Cannes premiere of The Beguiled wearing lavender custom Schiaparelli Couture. For the LA premiere she went more relaxed and bohemian with a cream lace Chloe dress. I am really hoping for a real wow moment from Kirsten tomorrow night at the NYC screening of The Beguiled and I think that this lemon yellow Nina Ricci Resort 2018 cocktail dress which features exaggerated hips, and an embellished square neckline would do just that. When I saw this dress in the Nina Ricci Resort 2018 lookbook yesterday I knew that I had to immediately change my wish for Kirsten to wear for tomorrow night. This dress is classic yet bold and a risk all meshed into one and there are very few who I think have the grace and glamour to really make it work on the red carpet and I think that Kirsten is one of those few. I would really let the dress do most of the talking adding a pair of simple gold pumps, a loose updo, lined eye, red lip, and a simple gold clutch to round out this ensemble. When it comes to the most improved dresser of the year it has to be Nicole Kidman. Nicole started the year on a very rocky stage with look after look that just didn’t suit her. It was at the Oscars where I saw the Nicole that I love again and she hasn’t let me down since. I hope her roll of amazing fashion will take her right to the Oscars next year. For tomorrow’s screening of The Beguiled in NYC I would love to see Nicole take on this gorgeous gold embroidered Christian Dior Cruise 2018 midi cocktail dress which features the brands signature a-line silhouette with embellished straps. In my review of this collection I talked about how bored of these type of dresses I am getting, but I think that if anyone could make me fall in love with one again it would be this new and improved Nicole Kidman. Rounding this look out with a pair of strappy gold sandals, vintage Fred Leighton earrings, pinned back straight locks, and a light pink lip would really make this an absolutely beautiful moment for Nicole.
