Cannes 2017: amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

The amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala is tomorrow and the fashion at the Cannes Film Festival is getting me really excited as to what all the stars are going to bring to the red carpet at the gala on Thursday. The amfAR gala is one of those nights where we see the jury let down their hair and party along side the stars who are presenting films at the festival and the biggest names in Hollywood, music, and fashion. This year I am really looking forward to seeing all of the stars will bring to the red carpet tomorrow. Berenice Bejo presented her film Redoubtable on Sunday wearing a gorgeous white draped gown which totally embodied old Hollywood glamour. I loved that look and I love Berenice and I am hoping that she will stick around in Cannes for the amfAR Gala. The only time that Berenice has attended the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala was back in 2012 while she was acting as the Mistress of Ceremonies for that years edition of the Cannes Film Festival. She wore a bold and dramatic Giambattista Valli Couture gown and it is still one of my favorite looks from her. I would love to see Berenice to step onto the red carpet at the amfAR Gala on Thursday wearing this turquoise Alexis Mabille Spring 2016 Couture crepe gown which features thin straps, iridescent rocaille petal embroidery, sun pleated illusion tulle, and crystal embellishments. This gown is light, breezy, and dramatic which makes it the perfect gown for the Cannes Film Festival and I think that Berenice would really ensure that it is an absolutely beautiful red carpet moment. Styling the look with a loose updo, lined eye, pink lip, dazzling diamond drop earrings, a matching clutch, and a pair of silver sandals would just make this look total perfection. Eva Longoria used to be a favorite of mine, then it came that she would only be on top of her game in Cannes, and over the last year there hasn’t been anything that I have actually liked from Eva. While I haven’t loved any of her recent looks there has been a little hope seen with looks from Marchesa and Azzi & Osta that are giving me hope that Eva’s looks during Cannes will be on top of her game. As an event chair I am expecting that Eva will deliver a really beautiful red carpet moment at this years amfAR gala. I think that this black and red Yanina Spring 2017 Couture flamenco inspired gown which features a striped tired skirt, embroidered halter neck, and a belted waist would be an absolutely beautiful moment for Eva to wear for the amfAR Gala. I am holding my breath with caution and hopefulness that Eva will deliver something amazing this year during her time in Cannes for L’Oreal. Jourdan Dunn kicked off her time in Cannes on Saturday wearing a really gorgeous yet edgy Jonathan Simkhai jumpsuit for the red carpet at the Fashion for Relief Gala. I am hoping for some really great edgy glam looks from Jourdan over her time at the festival. Jourdan has been wearing a lot of pants looks recently but for the amfAR Gala on Thursday I would love to see her step out wearing this metallic blueish, grey Redemption Fall 2017 RTW column gown which features strong shoulders, faux wrap skirt, daring plunging neckline, and a slit to there. We have seen a lot of looks from Redemption during Cannes and I think that it is a safe bet that that we will see the label, which is a favorite among models, at the amfAR gala tomorrow night. I think that Jourdan would definitely elevate this look into a major moment on the red carpet against the other similar looks from this collection that have already been worn. A pulled back afro, smokey eye, red lip, black strappy sandals, and dazzling diamond drop earrings would really make this look an absolutely major look for Jourdan. When I saw that Milla Jovovich was one of the event chairs for this years gala I didn’t get as excited as I used to. I was sooooooooo disappointed in the promo tour that Milla delivered for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter earlier this year because her looks were downright ugly. I hope that the magic of Cannes will help elevate Milla’s style back to the days that she was one of my favorites to see on a red carpet. I think that Milla would really shut down the red carpet wearing this gorgeous Schiaparelli Spring 2017 Couture strapless a-line gown which features an amazing mix and match patchwork fantasy print. I have really wanted to see this gown during Cannes and I think that this would be a perfect look for Milla to wear on the red carpet at the amfAR Gala. I don’t think that this is a look that would fair very well on the steps at the Palais, but the more laid back and breezy red carpet of the amfAR Gala tomorrow. I think that styling this look with a curly, romantic updo, smokey eye, pink lip, gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals would put Milla back on the top of red carpet dressing.  Uma Thurman is not one of the event chairs of this years gala, but as a guest at the event several times in the past and as the president of the Un Certain Regard jury I would bet that she will step out on the red carpet at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc at the amfAR Gala tomorrow night. I went with a very out of the box look for my wish for Uma to wear tomorrow with this midnight blue Sally LaPointe Fall 2017 RTW column gown which features an ombre feathered halter top and a velvet skirt slit up to there. I think that this gown is dramatic and glamorous and would put Uma back on track. Uma opened Cannes in a gorgeous custom Atelier Versace gown but her looks following that have been really disappointing. I know Uma has the potential to really wow me, and I hope that she delivers something beautiful tomorrow. This gown with a sleek updo, smokey eye, nude lip, simple black sandals, a black clutch, and a pair of dazzling diamond and sapphire cluster earrings would be absolutely amazing.

The 2017 Cannes Film Festival is currently running now through Sunday May 28, 2017. The 2017 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala will take place tomorrow Thursday May 25, 2017.
