Cannes 2017: “The Square” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Wow I can’t believe we have hit my final premiere wish for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. After today I have a bunch of wishes to post for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala and finish the wishes with two more closing ceremony wishes and then we will be done making any more wishes for the festival. The Square was a late addition to this years edition and is the second project that Elisabeth Moss will be presenting at the festival this year. I am interested in seeing what Elisabeth will bring to the Croisette for her first year ever at the Cannes Film Festival. I think that for the photocall for The Square that Elisabeth would look lovely on the red carpet wearing this red and white gingham Brock Collection Spring 2017 RTW ensemble which features a bustier top with spaghetti straps and a knee length pencil skirt which features a red waistband. This is a very classic look and I do think that this would be a perfect look for Elisabeth to wear for a photocall at the Cannes Film Festival. For the premiere I went to another of my favorite gowns and this beautiful abyss blue Elie Saab Fall 2017 RTW gown which features a an illusion neck with lace inserts, a sleeveless silhouette, and a pleated full length skirt with ruffles throughout. This gown is purely elegant and I do think that for her premiere that this would be a beautiful look. I would like to see this look modified to have just a little more of a train thank it does for the runway to add a little drama for the Cannes red carpet. A sleek updo, dazzling diamond drop earrings, a silver metallic clutch, a lined eye, red lip, and silver sandals would make this a truly beautiful moment on the Cannes red carpet. I could have left this late addition to just being a wish for Elisabeth, but I wanted to make a few more wishes for the fabulous members of the jury. So far Fan Bingbing has worn nothing but couture during her time at the festival and I am loving it. For my final premiere wish for the stunning Chinese actress I went for something with a lot of drama with this white Ashi Studio Spring 2017 Couture strapless gown which features tiered bell sleeves, pleated lace, and a voluminous high low skirt. There aren’t many that I think could really pull this gown off on a red carpet, but I know that Fan has the grace and presence to really turn it into an absolutely beautiful red carpet moment. Rounding the look out with a high bun, red lip, dazzling diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of white satin sandals would really make this a totally perfect look for Mrs Bingbing.I was a little underwhelmed with the Alexander McQueen gown that Jessica Chastain wore for the Cannes opening. It was very pretty and for any of the other red carpets of the festival I probably would have loved it, but it just wasn’t grand enough for the occasion. I hope that her festival fashion is on an upward curve from here on out. Jessica would definitely take my breath away if she stepped out onto the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival wearing this bright orange Armani Prive Spring 2017 Couture one shoulder column gown which features an asymmetrical neckline, and a cutout on the side. We have never seen Jessica wear this shade of orange on the red carpet, but I think that she would be absolutely gorgeous wearing this gown on the red carpet. I have seen other redheads in this shade and it can be absolutely magical, and if anyone can make it work it will be Jessica. The key to this look would be a sleek updo, lined eye, nude lip, gold sandals, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings.

The 2017 Cannes Film Festival is currently open and will run until Sunday May 28, 2017. The premiere of The Square will take place tomorrow on Saturday May 20, 2017.
