Cannes 2017: “Come Swim” Photocall & Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

At the 2017 Cannes Film Festival we will see actress and festival veteran Kristen Stewart make her directorial debut with her film Come Swim. I honestly don’t have too high of expectations for the premiere because it is an early premiere and not being shown in the main theater of this years edition. I may not have high expectations, but I still like to hold out hope that Kristen will deliver some really great red carpet moments. Since she shaved her head I have been on board with a lot more of her red carpet looks and I actually interested in seeing what Kristen will pack for her journey to Cannes. For the photocall for Come Swim I decided to shun Chanel. I have a feeling that on the heels of her Chanel campaign release that Kristen will wear wall to wall Chanel, but I am holding out hope that she does branch out a little here and there. I think that going with this Saint Laurent Spring 2017 RTW ensemble which features a black sleeveless draped jersey t-shirt and gold draped lamé mini skirt would be a really great look for Kristen. This look is feminine, yet tough at the same time and I think that the ankle boots that the look was paired with on the runway are the perfect route for Kristen to go to really keep this look in her wheelhouse. For the premiere I am going really far out there. This silver and white Chanel Spring 2017 Couture column gown which features a plunging neckline, belted waist, feathered knees, and a sheer hem is definitely something that is outside of Kirsten’s comfort zone, but I think that with her edgy buzz cut that this would be a rocker glam look on Kristen. With a smokey eye, a diamond ear cuff, silver sandals, and a nude lip that this could be one of Kristen’s best red carpet looks ever.

The Come Swim premiere will take place on Saturday May 20, 2017. The 2017 Cannes Film Festival opens Wednesday May 17 and runs through Sunday May 28, 2017.
