Cannes 2017: L’Orealista Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

We are now just under two weeks away from the 2017 Cannes Film Festival which kicks off on Wednesday May 17, 2017. This year is is shaping up to be one of the best years ever and I cannot wait to see what all the stars are going to bring to the red carpet as they jet over to the French Riviera. Some of the best looks of the festival will come thanks to the L’Orealista’s who will be adding glamour to the red carpets. Last year sic of my ten favorite looks from the festival were thanks to L’Oreal ladies and I am expecting then to bring it just as much this year. Barbara Palvin has never consistently been one of my favorites on the red carpet but she had had a few good looks in the past. I am hoping that this year when Barbara steps out for her two turns on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals that she delivers two great looks on the red carpet. I looked at some of my favorite looks from Barbara’s past to come up with the best looks for her to wear for this years edition of the Cannes Film Festival. I learned that bohemian glam are usually the looks that I tend to love. So with that in mind I went on a hunt. The first look I came up with is this blue and green wave jacquard Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Fall 2016 gown which features an a-line silhouette, embellished waist, and a deep v-neckline. I think that the feminine yet bohemian label is a perfect label to see on Barbara at Cannes. We often see gorgeous and dramatic custom Alberta Ferretti gowns at Cannes and I think that Barbara would deliver another gorgeous Cannes moment for the label. I am following that with a more standard glam moment for Barbara to wear on the red carpet at Cannes. This simple white sleeveless Lanvin Spring 2017 RTW mirror jersey gown which features a plunging v-neckline, a knotted detail at the waist, and a column skirt is a very standard look, but I think that a classic Hollywood glam moment would do Barbara well. With old Hollywood waves, red lip, and a statement necklace that even in its simplicity that this could be one of Barbara’s best looks ever. Finally I went to Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini to pick my final wish for Barbara to wear for her L’Oreal duties this year. Last year Barbara delivered two gorgeous gowns from the label. One at Cannes and one at the Venice Film Festival and both were the perfect mix of femininity, drama, and bohemian glamour. I want to see Barbara make it a third gorgeous gown from the label at this years edition of the Cannes Film Festival. I would love to see Barbara take to the red carpet wearing a custom gown version of the look from the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Fall 2017 RTW collection which features a sweetheart neckline satin bustier and a polka dot embroidered tulle layered skirt. I think that as a gown with a dramatic train and maybe in the teal that was presented in a killer patent coat in the same collection. Each of these looks would make for a gorgeous red carpet run for Barbara. I used to get so excited over seeing Eva Longoria on the red carpet at Cannes. There was a time that she worked magic on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals wearing major gowns by Atelier Versace, Marchesa, and Emilio Pucci but in recent years Eva hasn’t given me anything to get excited about. I hope this year that Eva is back on her game for this years edition of the festival, but her recent red carpet moments are not making me hold out much hope. I think that any of the three gowns I have featured here would put Eva back on top form. The first is a soft lilac Georges Chakra Spring 2017 Couture mermaid gown which features a draped asymmetrical neckline. This is a soft, feminine and dramatic gown would do Eva a great service on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Eva knows how to work a mermaid gown on the red carpet like no other and I think that this could help put her back on top form. Last year Eva exclusively wore Pamella Roland gowns on the red carpet at Cannes, and sadly they were not dramatic enough for my taste. When I was sitting front row at the Pamella Roland Fall 2017 RTW presentation at New York Fashion Week and this gunmetal and grey ombre sequin ball gown covered in ostrich feathers wafted by me Eva was one of the first people that came to my mind. Now it isn’t often that we see Eva in a ball gown shape on the red carpet, but I think that the drama and glamour that this gown possess is perfect for the Cannes Film Festival. Following that up with this dramatic deep purple Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture off the shoulder gown which features a column skirt, a voluminous attached train, and beautiful beaded embroidery would just give Eva the major red carpet moments that would make for a killer Cannes run.  Jennifer Lopez hasn’t been to Cannes since she was announced as a face of L’Oreal in 2010. Since then the festival always seem to contradict with her shooting American Idol‘s live shows. Well last year the show wrapped up and it seems like Jennifer’s schedule is open enough for her to make the jaunt to the French Riviera for this years edition. I think that if anyone could master the red carpets at Cannes that it would be JLo. After her best dressed list topping, an unexpected, Valentino Couture gown at the Met Gala I just got even more excited and hopeful that she will make her way to Cannes this year. I picked three very different looks for JLo to wear on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. The first look is this strapless Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture gown which features a velvet peplum skirt, dramatic train, and a circular embellished bustier. This is glamour and drama personified (as are all of these looks) and I really do think that while it isn’t our standard JLo look that it would be a gorgeous look for her to wear on the red carpet at Cannes. Following that with this ivory off the shoulder Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture gown which features an embellished bodice, a feathered skirt, and a sexy split would be a truly magical moment for Jennifer. Feathers are one of my favorite embellishments for the red carpet and I think that this would just come across as an lighter than air glamour moment at the Palais. The final look for JLo is one that I would love to see her rock on the red carpet, and have since I thought it first took the runway in 2014. This aqua blue draped one shoulder gown is dramatic, bold, and glamorous. This is the type of look that I would expect to see Jennifer wearing on the red carpet at Cannes and I am eagerly awaiting the moment that it happens. Zuhair Murad, Gucci, Stephane Rolland, Georges Hobeika, and Elie Saab are all labels that we have seen Li Bingbing bring to life on the red carpet. When it comes to her Cannes looks Li either gets it really right or she fades into the background. I hope that when she takes her turn this year at the festival that all of her looks are top notch. Each of these looks evokes a different side of Li’s style. The first is the princess side. I think that this sand colored long sleeve tulle ball gown which features embellished embroidery and long sleeves from the Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture collection is something very standard in terms of Li’s style. This is the type of look I would expect her to really deliver on the red carpet at Cannes. Going forth from that I went to a more dramatic and avant garde look with this hand crafted Marchesa Spring 2017 Couture column gown which features a voluminous ruffled cape in blue ombré tones with silver, gold, opal and blue crystal beading. This is a look that only few could pull off and I think that Li would look do elegant rocking the red carpet in this confection. The final look I picked for Li to wear during her time at Cannes delivers her more sexy and bohemian side to the red carpet. This black Roberto Cavalli couture strapless lace gown with a corset style sweetheart neckline and bright pink floral embroidery is perfect for Cannes and I think that this gown would be a different type of look for Li, but still extremely glamorous. South Korean supermodel Soo Joo Park doesn’t usually bring big and bold to the red carpet, but always brings gorgeous looks. In past years we have seen Soo Joo step onto the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals wearing gowns from Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford. I have put designs from both labels in my set of wishes for her to wear for this years festival. I think that Soo Joo would be the epitome of glamour in any of the three gowns that I have optioned here. The first is a black Lanvin Pre-Fall 2017 sequin detail cross front column gown which features a side split, that I don’t believe that Soo Joo would work a la Angeline Jolie. This gown is simple, yet glamorous and I think that Soo Joo would elevate it with her signature laid back glamour. Following that I think that this white one shoulder velvet gown from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 RTW collection which features an asymmetrical sweetheart neckline and a column skirt is a perfect option for Soo Joo to wear at Cannes. The gown is modern and classic at the same time and I think that the addition of the floral belt just elevates it even further. And finally I have a geometric wish for Soo Joo to wear on the red carpet with this ivory and black Tom Ford Spring 2017 RTW column gown. Now Soo Joo has never worn a printed gown on the red carpet, but I think that she would make an incredible statement rocking this gown at Cannes.
