2017 MTV Movie & Television Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

We are in a bit of a rush to cover a bunch of wish lists for events that are set to dot all of May before I dive into my Cannes Film Festival wishes. I am super excited about Cannes this year, so much I almost canceled my plans to do wishes for some movie premieres and awards shows that are coming up. The 2017 MTV Movie and Television Awards was one of those events that I almost skipped. This year MTV has gone gender neutral in its categories and is including a whole host of television categories for its annual film awards and I am intrigued to see what it will mean for the show this year. Allison Williams is nominated this year for Best Villain thanks to her role in Get Out. I can’t say that I have seen this movie, but I have heard that Allison did deliver a bone chilling performance. I adore her red carpet style so I would love to see her step out on the red carpet this year. I went with a very out there choice, I’m not even sure I like it totally, but I want Allison to step out for the MTV Movie & Television Awards wearing this J.W. Anderson Fall 2017 RTW cocktail dress which feature a bold red filigree print, silver chainmail sleeves and neckline, and a grey feathered hem. I adore this dress, it is something I desperately want to see on the red carpet, and I do think that Allison with her new bombshell blond hair that it could be a bold, edgy 60’s housewife on acid moment on the red carpet. I would have Allison style the look with 60’s waves, a lined eye, glossy nude lip, and a pair of simple silver sandals to add the perfect finishing touches to this look.Emilia Clarke is nominated this year for Best Actor in a Show for her role in Game of Thrones and is definitely one that I am most hoping shows upon the red carpet at this years ceremony. Emilia hasn’t given me a real wow moment in a while and I think it is time that I get a real wow look from her. Currently Emilia is the face of a new Dolce & Gabbana fragrance, so I would guess that she will wear the label on the red carpet at this years MTV Movie and Television Awards. Honestly I rolled my eyes when Emilia was announced as a face of Dolce because I just don’t think she fits the label’s aesthetic very well. So with that in mind I decided not to pick a Dolce look for her to wear on this red carpet. Instead I would love it if Emilia stepped out giving us sultry sex pot with this forest green Saint Laurent Fall 2017 RTW draped halter gown which features a rosette detailed neckline. I think that with her wavy banged deep red bob that this would just ooze sex appeal. A smokey eye and gold sandals would ensure that this look is all about sexy glamour.Emma Watson has had a great year to date while promoting Beauty and the Beast. Over the course of the promo tour for the iconic Disney film Emma won red carpet after red carpet wearing gorgeous looks that represent sustainable fashion. I do love this trend of environmentally friendly dressing, and Emma has shown that dressing eco-chic doesn’t mean that one has to look like a hippie. I am kinda over seeing Emma in Oscar de la Renta and since her other looks seem to come from designer archives or are custom made. Since I cannot create something custom with eco-friendly materials so I dug into the Elie Saab Couture archive. I think that this hand painted floral Elie Saab Spring 2016 Couture mini dress which features a plunging neckline, flutter sleeves, and an a-line skirt would be perfect on the red carpet of this years MTV Movie and Television awards where Emma is nominated for Best Actor in a Movie and Best Kiss for her work in Beauty and the Beast. I think that this dress is flirty and feminine, which is different compared to the more structured and edgy looks that Emma has worn recently. I think that with loose waves, a smokey eye, light pink lip, and a gold pump that this look would be perfection. Hailee Steinfeld has had a great year and I am sure that she will not be slowing down anytime soon. At the MTV Movie and Television Awards Hailee is nominated for Best Actor in a Movie thanks to her role in The Edge of Seventeen. I actually really enjoyed seeing Hailee in this movie. She really was able to portray the character’s emotions and sense of loneliness in such a moving way. When Hailee steps out on a red carpet I can almost be guaranteed that it is going to be a glamorous production, and I would be that the MTV awards would be no different. I would love to see Hailee step out on this years red carpet wearing this dazzling long sleeve gold metallic fringe Atelier Versace Spring 2017 Couture mini dress which features a daring plunging neckline. I had originally pictured Jennifer Lopez wearing this dress on the red carpet, but I think that it would be a gorgeous youthful yet very sexy look on the red carpet at the MTV Movie and Television Awards next weekend. Hidden Figures was an absolutely amazing movie, but I have to say that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominated the wrong star. While Octavia Spencer acted her role beautifully it was Taraji P. Henson who really wowed me in that movie. I don’t think I have seen Taraji take a roll like this one before and it was definitely a totally wow moment watching her. I felt the emotion that she put into the roll and I am glad the she received a nomination for Best Actor in a Movie at the MTV Movie and Television Awards. It may not be an Oscar, but I would want to honor Taraji with all the awards that she could receive. I would love to see Taraji embrace bold color on the red carpet with this lemon yellow ruffled Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2014 Couture halter gown which features an asymmetrical hemline. After wearing a series of soft looks during awards season this would be the bright, bold look that I know Taraji can bring to the red carpet.

The 2017 MTV Movie and Television Awards will take place on Sunday May 7, 2017.
