The Met Gala is approaching and I am really excited to see what all the stars are going to being to the red carpet. Brie Larson has become a darling of the high fashion world with friends at Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Monse, Oscar de la Renta, McQueen, and Gucci so there is a whole myriad of opportunities for what she could wear for this years Met Gala. In past years Brie has been a guest of Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Proenza Schouler and each was a very different look in their own right. This black Jason Wu Fall 2017 RTW velvet and lace halter dress which features a square neckline and illusion cutouts would be gorgeous. Brie has yet to wear a gown with dramatic train for the Met Gala, where one is considered a requisite among some of the night’s most memorable moments past. The runway look for this gown is ankle length, but I know that it would be the epitome of modern glamour rocking a version of this gown modified to have a dramatic train. Keeping the look modern with a sleek high ponytail, kohl rimmed eye, an edgy diamond earcuff, and a pair of strappy black sandals would make this another look for Brie’s repertoire. Ellie Bamber attended her first Met Gala last year wearing a piece of artwork gown by Giles. We have really seen an emergence of Ellie over the last year thanks to her supporting role in Tom Ford’s film Nocturnal Animals. Tom Ford isn’t the only brand that Ellie has captured the eye of. She is also one of rising Chanel darlings who has caught the eye of Karl Lagerfeld. I would bet that this year, if she garners an invitation, that Ellie will be a guest of Chanel. Chanel usually had a bevy of it’s muses on the red carpet and I think that she would surely fit right in amongst the rest of the Chanel clan. Since Karl isn’t showing his Cruise 2018 collection in Paris until after the Met Gala so I would like to think that he will escort one (or more) of his muses up the Met steps this year. One of my favorite things to see on a red carpet is a red head in green and I think that Ellie would be shining star on the red carpet wearing this pale mint green Chanel Spring 2017 Couture sleeveless gown which likens to a classic Jackie-O moment. A chic updo, lined eye, matte rose pink lip, a pair of silver pumps, and diamond cluster earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Ellie.Jasmine Tookes has never attended a Met Gala but I would think that since she has been growing her red carpet style and the fact that shes now a minted Victoria’s Secret angel bodes really well for her gaining an invitation this year. I would love to see Jasmine bring bold color to the Met Gala red carpet with a modified version of this acid yellow Diane Von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2017 dress which features an asymmetric one shoulder silhouette and ruffled bodice layer that has a full length column gown with a dramatic train. DVF has had some of the best custom gowns on the Met Gala red carpet in the past and I really do think that this could be yet another winning combination for Jasmine and the best. Making the look a chic statement with sleek bun, kohl rimmed eye, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of gold sandals would really make this a bold statement making red carpet moment. Like Ellie, Lily Rose Depp made her Met Gala debut last year. Since she made her first red carpet appearance Lily has really only worn Chanel on the red carpet. Like mother like daughter I guess. Lily has made a great face of the label and I am sure that if Anna Wintour invites her back I would bet that she will once again wear the label on the red carpet. I think that only Lily could work the red carpet wearing this light pink strapless Chanel Spring 2017 Couture feather skirted mini dress. The dress is super fun and avant garde which makes it something that I would be surprised to see someone wear on the red carpet, but I do think that Lily would wear it with ease. Finishing the ballet inspired look with a romantic updo, winged eyeliner, a light pink lip, and a pair of pink satin Miu Miu column inspired heels would really make this a truly magical Met Gala red carpet moment. If anyone could be named the Queen of the Met Gala aside from Anna Wintour I would have to say that it has to be Sarah Jessica Parker. Every year Sarah Jessica Parker wins the red carpet wearing a perfect on theme ensemble and I am sure that this year will be no different. I looked back on all of SJP’s past Met Gala moments and there were so many major looks from her AngloMania McQueen and her Punk Giles to her Chinese H&M and Jamesian Oscar de la Renta there are so many major and memorable moments from the fashion queen. She has also had red carpet Met Gala red carpet moments in Halston Heritage, Monse, Valentino Couture, and an archive McQueen. Each look that Sarah Jessica Parker has worn in the past played true to the themes of each event so I am intrigued to see what she will bring to the red carpet with the Comme des Garçons/Rei Kawakubo theme. As I looked over the relevant collections that I believe that stars will be pulling from and I would love to see SJP hit the Met Gala red carpet wearing metallic black pleated Schiaparelli Spring 2017 Couture sleeveless gown which features a red dot on the bodice and blue waves wrapping around it. I have been waiting to post this wish since I first saw this gown walk the runway in January. This is one of my favorite gowns, but I can really only picture it working on the Met Gala red carpet and SJP is really the only one that I can picture really bringing this gown to life on the red carpet.I wont lie to you I deleted this wish and then I said that I couldn’t do that and re-edited my wish. The odds are that supermodel Toni Garrn isn’t going to be at this years Met Gala, she has only attended once wearing Topshop in 2014, but after her surprise appearance in liquid gold BOSS at the Berlin Film Festival I would love to see her on the red carpet anyway. I fell in love with the Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 RTW collection and I am eagerly awaiting seeing it on the red carpet. I think that Toni would look absolutely gorgeous on the Met Gala red carpet wearing this goldish grey Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 RTW silk gown. I would bet that one of the gorgeous gowns from this collection will be on the red carpet and I really think that Toni would be the perfect person to bring it to life. The dress seems very classic old Hollywood but with a modern twist. Keeping with the old Hollywood vibe of the gown I would have Toni style the look with Veronica Lake waves over one shoulder, a winged eye, a red lip, and a pair of champagne sandals would ensure that this is a truly gorgeous look.
