Usually each season I post my favorite looks, and my initial wishes, from the collections on Pinterest, but I didn’t do that this season. I was in NYC and super busy with covering shows, making Oscar party wishes, and trying to enjoy the experience that I didn’t post the pins like I usually do. Instead I have a drought of events so I have scheduled a series of “random” wishes for some of my favorite women, that I don’t get to feature as often as I would like. I get two events of the year where I know we are going to see Anna Wintour on a red carpet, the Met Gala and the CFDA Awards, but I really do love Anna’s style. So I decided to do a series of wishes of stuff that I can see the Queen of Conde Nast adding into her closet. Anna is a HUGE fan of Chanel and it wouldn’t surprise me to see her wearing a look or two from this collection. Anna is known for picking pieces and putting them together instead of wearing head to toe runway looks. The blazer and midi dress covered in sequins to look like constellations from the Chanel Fall 2017 RTW collection inspired by space really scream Anna. I thought that when I saw the dress, but pair it with the blazer and this is definite an ensemble that Anna would wear for an event. It has been a while since we have seen Anna Wintour wear Dior for anything, but I have to say that Anna could definitely rock some of the pieces from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s sophomore RTW collection for the label. Anna is a feminist and I am sure was loving all the feminist messages that were presented as inspirations behind many designers collections. Chiuri started her feminist revolution of Dior with her debut Spring 2017 RTW collection and that has been a consistent theme since then. This black and blue gingham Christian Dior Spring 2017 RTW collection suit with an origami cape jacket and simple skirt would be a perfect look for Anna. I would imagine that Anna would have the skirt lengthened, but I think that the elevated classic of this look is exactly something that she would add into her personal wardrobe. I can see Anna wearing this look with her signature Manolo Blhanik ‘AW’ sandals in the summer and autumn and with boots in the winter. That would make this the perfect addition to Anna’s no doubt extensive closet. Now Anna is not usually one that wears the same label head to toe (unless that label is Chanel) which is something I love about her. I have no idea how much of Anna’s wardrobe is purchased and how much of it is gifted by designers that she has helped foster and grow. Anna can always be spotted sitting front row at Proenza Schouler shows and I am sure that something from Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s latest collection. My bet would be on the white and beige shearling trim leather long trench coat which features a belted waist and front patch pockets. The coat is a classic with a modern twist and I do think that Anna would love it. Anna gives some serious coat porn (and yes I can see Anna cringing at that statement) and I would kill to see her wearing this coat on the sidewalk runway. Anna has never worn Vetements, and it isn’t the most likely label to see on her back, but this cream tweed suit from the labels Fall 2017 RTW collection is classic Anna. The branded tweed suit with gold buttons and measurement lines really makes this a great look for Anna to wear. I can see her wearing it without the coat as well with a pair of her nude Manolo ‘AW’ sandals in the summer months. As the rumor goes The Devil Wears Prada and yes it is rumored that Anna Wintour inspired the iconic character and Anna does love herself some Prada. I am sure that of the bevy of amazing coats that walked the runway at the Prada Fall 2017 RTW show that Anna will have her hands on at least one of them. I figure that Anna will wear one of the leather and one of the feathers. On this list I am featuring this teal, brown, leather coat with crystals, fringe (both leather and beaded,) and beaded floral embroidery for Anna to wear. It is the most Anna of all the looks in the show I think and I would bet that come the end of fashion month in September or come the Couture shows next January that Anna will be spotted wearing this coat on the front rows. I went with something a little more subdued with this blue Jason Wu Fall 2017 RTW print of wales plaid peplum top and asymmetrical top for Anna to pair with this statement coat. The dress with that coat would be perfection and the dress could be worn in the office next week.
