2017 Academy Awards: Performers Red Carpet Wish List

cynthia-erivo-2017-academy-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1So far we have only seen one female announced as a performer at the Academy Awards on Sunday is Tony Award winning Broadway star Cynthia Erivo who will be entertaining the best of Hollywood after the Oscars at the Governors Ball. Prior to performing I would expect that we will see Cynthia hit the Oscars red carpet and I am hoping that she does so in high style. When I first took notice of Cynthia last year prior to her Tony Award win she was being styled by Jeanann Williams, who styles Naomi Watts, but recently she has been styled by Sarah Slutsky and I have not liked a single thing she has worn this year. I am hoping that come Hollywood’s biggest night that Cynthia is on top of her game. I think that turning to Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad would be a perfect choice for Cynthia to wear for the Oscars. I would love to see Cynthia take to the red carpet ahead of her performance wearing this emerald green sleeveless embellished ball gown. This gown is everything that I wish for when it comes to an Oscar gown and I think that Cynthia would wear it well. Adding gold sandals, a red lip, and emerald cluster earrings will finish this look perfectly. For a costume change for her performance during the Governors Ball I would love to see Cynthia evoke the glamour of old Hollywood with this gorgeous Ziad Nakad Fall 2016 Couture ice blue and raspberry pink cocktail dress which features ombre beaded fringe. This dress has movement and elegance and I think would make for an absolutely perfect performance ensemble. Swapping her gold sandals for silver sandals, keeping the red lip and smokey eye and swapping in a pair of diamond chandelier earrings would ensure that this look is performance ready. One thing about Cynthia’s looks that have been really getting to me is her hair. I would love to see Cynthia wear her hair in the close bleached shaved hairstyle that I originally fell in love with on her.sara-bareilles-2017-academy-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1It was announced late yesterday that Sara Bareilles would be joining the Hollywood elite as the performer for the In Memoriam segment of the Oscars telecast on Sunday night. Since her pop rise in 2007 Sara has become quite involved in Broadway including penning one of last years Best Musical Tony Award nominees Waitress, which she will be joining the cast of in the leading role next month. Ahead of her performance during the telecast I am sure we will see Sara walk the red carpet. I went back and forth on if I was going to pick a bold or a simple gown for Sara to wear on the red carpet and ultimately went for bold in silhouette but simple in embellishments. I would love to see Sara walk her first Academy Awards red carpet wearing this bubblegum pink Christian Siriano Fall 2017 RTW sleeveless ball gown which features a scoop neckline. This gown is a simple princess moment and I think that for the Oscars red carpet that Sara could get away with wearing this creation. Styling this gown with a chic updo, lined eye, light pink lip, gold set diamond cluster earrings, a gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals would really make this a perfect moment for Sara. Changing into something more somber for her performance I think that this slate blue Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2017 silk faille gathered hem a-line gown which features a deep v-neckline, a fitted bodice, and a flared hem would be perfect. Instead of opting for a black gown which will surly fade into the background of the black stage and backdrop that is usually seen during this segment of the show I think that this gown fits the mood. The gown would just barely stand out, but enough so that Sara won’t fade into the background completely. Swapping her updo for loose waves over one shoulder, her gold set cluster earrings for diamond drop earrings, and her gold sandals for silver sandals would really ensure that this is another gorgeous moment for Sara on the stage at the Academy Awards Sunday night.

I will be live tweeting the 2017 Academy Awards red carpet, show, and after parties. All night starting at 5PM on Sunday, please join me.
