The time is officially upon us my red carpet wishes for the 2017 Academy Award red carpet. I have been building to this moment with my party wishes and now I will make all my wishes for the main ceremony red carpet, starting with the host of gorgeous women nominated for Best Actress. Emma Stone is the most likely to take home the little gold man on Sunday night and I cannot wait to see what she shows up on the red carpet wearing. It has been a thing that most women who win Best Actress do so wearing some shade of gold and I think that for the Oscars that gold would be a great choice for Emma. This cream satin skirted Elie Saab Spring 2017 Couture gown which features a gold beaded bodice would be one of my favorite red carpet moments from Emma this awards season. A lot of fashion insiders are hoping that the Emma stone that embraces bold color will be on the red carpet on Sunday night, but I think that her subtle and glamorous side will be on full display. I think that this gown is a chic and glamorous statement, the perfect look for Emma to take a trophy home. Styling the look with a romantic updo, red lip, gold set diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of light bronze Jimmy Choo ‘Lang’ sandals would really turn this look into pure Oscar gold. You can see the Atelier Versace gown that I made the wish for Emma to change into for the Vanity Fair Oscar party here. Isabelle Huppert has been a breakout in her big Hollywood run this year and I cannot wait to see what the Elle star will bring to the red carpet on Sunday night at the Oscars. Isabelle is going to be busy this week kicking off her weekend Friday at the Cesar Awards before jetting to LA for the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday and then the Oscars on Sunday. Last month Isabelle was front row at the Armani Prive Spring 2017 show on the same day that she received her Oscar nomination. Isabelle has already worn a look from that collection (for the Oscar Nominees Luncheon) and I am kinda expecting to see her wearing the label again on Sunday night. Opting out of one of the gowns from the Spring 2017 Couture collection I went for the sleek and glamorous black Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture long sleeve sequin column gown for Isabelle to wear for the Oscars. I think that this gown is classic, modern, and glamorous and the perfect look for Isabelle to really give a gorgeous moment on the red carpet wearing. Styling the look with her signature loose waves, a red lip, black Christian Louboutin ‘Madame Menule’ pumps, a pair of statement diamond drop earrings, and a diamond cocktail ring would really make this a perfect moment for Isabelle to wear for her first Oscars red carpet. Meryl Streep has been really delivering with her looks this awards season and I am really intrigued to see what the Florence Foster Jenkins will wear for the Academy Awards on Sunday night. This is not Meryl’s first go at the Oscars, and I am sure it will not be her last. Of all the nominees this year I was surprised most that Meryl was given a slot in the coveted five nominations this year. I would love to see Meryl go for something really modern with this gold sequined top Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 RTW gown which features a beige long sleeve evening skirt. This is a different look that we are used to seeing on Meryl, but I think that she would look so elegant wearing this creation on the red carpet. Adding a chic updo, lined eye, light pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of gold pumps would ensure that Meryl really wow’s on the Oscar carpet on Sunday. I was, and still kind of am, not sure if Natalie Portman was going to make it to the Oscars. Natalie is very pregnant and I am sure that we are just days or very short weeks away from her giving birth. I am really excited to see what she will bring to the Oscars red carpet on Sunday night. I think that Natalie will really deliver a killer maternity moment. I have been saving this sage green Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture 3-D floral embellished gown specifically for this occasion and I know that Natalie would look gorgeous wearing this creation. The gown does need some modifications to make it 100% red carpet ready for Natalie. First it would have to be lined (in nude,) Natalie has never been one to rock the sheer dress on the red carpet. Second it has to be made to hit the floor and have a dramatic train. And finally I think that Natalie would prefer some more strap to cover her shoulders and add more support to the dress. Styling this gown with short gold pumps (or more likely flats,) a chic updo, pink lip, and a pair of Christian Dior High Jewellery ‘Fontange Emeraude” earrings in yellow gold, diamonds and emeralds would really make this a study in perfection for maternity style. Seeing Ruth Negga’s name on the list of nominations for Best Actress for this years Oscars was the most pleasant surprise of awards season. I would have thought that Amy Adams would have rounded out this set of nominations with her role in Arrival but Ruth’s performance in Loving seemed to capture the Academy’s nominating voters. For her first Oscars red carpet I would love to see Ruth wear the same brand she kicked off award season wearing, Valentino. Ruth wore a fantasy forest Valentino gown for the Palm Springs Film Festival awards gala and I would love to see her end awards season wearing the label. The moment I saw this periwinkle blue Valentino Spring 2017 Couture gown which features a pattern of ruffles, a-line silhouette, and a spaghetti strap halter neck walk the runway during Paris Couture Fashion Week I earmarked it as Ruth’s Oscar gown. I think that Ruth has some room to play with her Oscar look because she is very unlikely to win. This soft gown would be complimented with chic finger waves, a smokey eye, nude lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of silver sandals would make this the absolutely gorgeous moment for Ruth to win her first Oscar red carpet. Following the ceremony you can see the gorgeous red Brock Collection gown that I would love to see her change into for the Vanity Fair party.
I will be live tweeting the 2017 Academy Awards red carpet, show, and after parties. All night starting at 5PM on Sunday, please join me.
