2017 Academy Awards: After-Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 14

dakota-johnson-2017-oscar-parties-red-carpet-wish-list-1Dakota Johnson is one of the many presenters at the Oscars on Sunday night and I am intrigued to see what she is going to wear on the red carpet. Dakota really let me down with her Fifty Shades Darker promo tour and I know she can do so much better than what she has worn over the last month. As a face of Gucci it won’t come as a surprise when one of her Oscar night looks comes courtesy of the label. I am going the less predictable route by picking something from Gucci for Dakota to wear for the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party. This Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 gown which features a pink satin bodice, a black velvet skirt, and a crystal broach at the meeting point of the plunging neckline and the bodice is the only look currently out from Gucci that I would actually like to see Dakota wearing on the red carpet. The dress kinda reminds me if an 80’s prom dress, but in a good way, and I do think Dakota would look incredibly chic wearing this creation. Styling the look with a loose updo, smokey eye, pink lip, and black sandals would make this a gorgeous moment on the red carpet for Dakota.heidi-klum-2017-oscar-parties-red-carpet-wish-list-1It would not be a night of big red carpets if there wasn’t at least one appearance by supermodel Heidi Klum. No matter what the event is you can always count on Heidi to be on the red carpet. This year, as in many of the past, Heidi is one of the co-hosts of the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and is expected to attend not only that event but also the Vanity Fair party after. Heidi usually goes for very youthful and sexy looks on the red carpet and I have been given grief about criticizing some of Heidi’s looks that have just been too youthful and just drastically aged her. I am hoping that glamorous Heidi is on the red carpet on Sunday night. To help ensure that we see that side of Heidi I picked this gorgeous antique gold Roberto Cavalli Couture gown which features a scoop neck and dazzling beaded fringe. Everything about this gown evokes the glamour of the 1920’s and 30’s but in such a modern and elegant way that it really would be a stand out moment for Heidi on the red carpet. Adding Veronica Lake waves, soft smokey eye, glossy nude lip, diamond chandelier earrings, and a pair of gold sandals would definitely make this a top notch red carpet moment.kerry-washington-2017-oscar-parties-red-carpet-wish-list-1I am very concerned about what Kerry Washington’s red carpet future holds. The Scandal star has been dressed by Erin Walsh for as long as I can remember but recently Kerry was been working with Taylor Swift’s stylist Joseph Cassell. While I was starting to see a falter in Kerry’s style I don’t know if working with Cassell will do her any good. At the Oscars last year Kerry wore two Atelier Versace numbers and absolutely killed it style wise. I am hoping that if she is on the red carpet at this years Vanity Fair Oscar party that she gives me a wow moment. This rainbow confection from the Schiaparelli Fall 2016 Couture collection the the kind of wow statement moment that I am really hoping Kerry delivers on the red carpet on Sunday night. This strapless, tea length, a-line gown is a statement on it’s own and I know that Kerry could deliver it in a magnificent manner on the Vanity Fair red carpet. Since the dress is such a statement styling the look with a red lip, sleek bun, and black sandals would really send this moment over the top. priyanka-chopra-2017-oscar-parties-red-carpet-wish-list-1I can’t believe it has been a year since Priyanka Chopra made her big Hollywood debut. The start may have been shaky but there is no denying that Priyanka has turned into an international style star. While she may not be presenting at this years Oscar I bet you that she will still be on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party afterwards. Last year Priyanka faded into the background wearing a simple Jenny Packham gown for the Vanity Fair party, this year I am making a wish that she goes big or goes home wearing this green Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture ball gown. While upstaging the nominees at the main ceremony is frowned upon the Vanity Fair red carpet is fair game. This dress would be that grand princess moment that we have not yet seen from Priyanka on the red carpet, and it is the perfect place for her to bring it to the red carpet. Since the gown is so grand I would keep the styling pretty simple with a pair of gold sandals, sleek updo, a berry lip, lined eye, and a pair of gold set diamond cluster earrings to really make this look full Hollywood princess glamour. zendaya-2017-oscar-parties-red-carpet-wish-list-1Last for today is the gorgeous Zendaya, Now I don’t exactly know what she does anymore but Zendaya is always a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her red carpet sartorial choices. Vanity Fair is a party where we see all kinds of stars on the red carpet and I would think it is a pretty safe bet that Zendaya will be one of the many stars in attendance. Zendaya is kind of like Heidi Klum in the fact that she shows up on all the red carpets no matter what the platform is. For Vanity Fair I would love to see a princess moment from Zendaya too since it has been a while since she has had one. I have really wanted to see this Reem Acra Spring 2017 RTW gown on the red carpet and with new collections coming out I am fearing that this gown will be lost to the annals of fashion soon and it deserves so much more than that. I think that the grace and elegance that Zendaya exudes on the red carpet would just ensure that this is an absolutely beautiful moment on the red carpet. A romantic updo, a red lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of simple black sandals would add just the right finishing touches to this look.

Oscar Night 2017 will take place on Sunday February 26, 2017.
