Oscar night is full of red carpets from the beginning to the end. From the start of the main carpet into the wee hours of the morning stars party it up at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing Party. This year Beyonce and Jay-Z are on the host committee for this years gala fundraiser and I am hoping to see them on the red carpet. Her custom Peter Dundas gowns at the Grammy’s showed that Bey is her to slay over the course of her pregnancy and I am intrigued to see what she is going to bring to the red carpets maternity wise. I think that for the Elton John red carpet that this sapphire blue Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture one shoulder gown which features gorgeous beaded embellishments on the waist would be gorgeous. Bey looks great in jewel tones and it has been so long since she has worn a bold blue on the red carpet, and I think that this gown is perfect for the little bit more subdued red carpet that takes place at the Elton John party. I will imagine that when she steps out on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar party next Sunday that she will be accessorizing with a shinny gold statue no matter what outfit she wears. Trying to pick the right look for Emma to wear for Oscar night proves a challenge since she is leading the pack as the most likely person to win the Best Actress statue. I did go with something a little more edgy, sexy, and bold with this blush pink Atelier Versace Spring 2017 Couture gown which features gorgeous all over embellishments in all sorts of patterns and draping. This gown is definitely a bold risk, but I think that for a red carpet like the Vanity Fair party that Emma could totally get away with it. Emma has been wearing pretty looks, but those wow moments that I am used to seeing her wearing on the red carpet just haven’t been there and I am hoping they return in the final dash to the Oscars. Armani usually is usually one of the brands that dominate on the red carpet on Oscar night. The orange Spring 2017 Couture collection from Armani Prive is definitely one that will take a bold soul to wear on the red carpet since orange just isn’t a color that we usually see on the red carpet. I would love to see Jessica Chastain (who will be in LA as a presenter at the Spirit Awards the night before) hit the Vanity Fair Oscar party wearing my favorite look from that collection in this very sculptural one shoulder completely sequined column gown with some black detail on the bodice. A redhead in orange especially one with peachy pale skin is something that I love. It is a total risk because it could come off really badly, but I think that a red carpet veteran like Jessica could really turn it into the major moment. I would like Jessica to carry a black clutch (even though she almost never carries a bag) adding black sandals, a sleek updo, lined eye and nude lip to really add the perfect touches to this look. Naomi Campbell is another co-host of this years Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and I am really excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet. Over the last year Naomi has really shown a lot of really great red carpet looks. I was getting to the point with her that I was giving up on her style but she seems to have turned it all around. For the Elton John red carpet I went for something a new label for Naomi to wear on the red carpet with this white fringe Yanina Spring 2017 Couture gown which is layered over a sheer gown and features black embroidery. Naomi has never worn Yanina on the red carpet, but I think that this gown is 100% within her red carpet wheelhouse. Her signature styling with black sandals, sleek locks, and a bold red lip would for sure ensure that this is a killer moment for Naomi on the red carpet. Sasha Lane was an unexpected breakout fashion star of last year. The American Honey star first showed up on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet last year wearing Emanuel Ungaro and custom Louis Vuitton and captured the eye of Gucci, Valentino, and Proenza Schouler as well. Sasha has such cool girl aura that I am intrigued to see what she could wear for the Vanity Fair party next Sunday. Sasha is nominated at the Spirit Awards the night before and it would not be very surprising to see her at Vanity Fair the following night. I think that going for a more relaxed cool girl look with this black Alberta Ferretti Spring 2017 RTW ensemble which features a black leather top and a poplin gathered ball skirt would be amazing from Sasha. The relaxed style of this look wouldn’t work on anyone else on Oscar night except for Sasha. Finishing the look with black sandals, her dreads styled into a big bun, smokey eye, red lip, and gold set diamond cluster earrings would definitely ensure that this is a great look for Sasha.
Oscar Night 2017 is Sunday February 26, 2017.
