When it comes to Oscar party dressing the set of looks that we can see are usually very varied. We will see gorgeous gowns, looks grander than the looks stars will wear for the main ceremony, great cocktail looks, and some that we will just scratch our heads at. Anne Hathaway is a regular at the Vanity Fair party, it was her only stop last year while she was pregnant, and I would imagine that she will be on the red carpet again next Sunday night. It has been a hot minute since we have seen Anne on a red carpet and the Vanity Fair red carpet would be the perfect place for her to make a red carpet comeback. This blue velvet Lanvin Pre-Fall 2017 fluid long bustier gown which features a strapless neckline, leather accents, and a maxi column skirt along with feather embellished crystal broaches on the neckline would look gorgeous on Anne and I think it would be the perfect look for her to wear for the Vanity Fair red carpet. Finishing with a chic vintage inspired updo, a smokey eye, red lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of simple black sandals would really make this an amazing moment for Anne. Emilia Clarke is one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet and I am really hoping that the Game of Thrones star is going to be on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party next Sunday night. I am always hoping that Emilia will represent British fashion on the red carpet, and most time she doesn’t do that. That doesn’t stop me for making the wishes that she will, and I am going to do the same for the Vanity Fair party. I would love to see Emilia hit the red carpet next Sunday wearing this blush nude Ralph & Russo Fall 2016 Couture embellished column gown which features a plunging portrait neckline and chiffon cape. The gown might be a little too similar to the nude Atelier Versace gown that Emilia wore for the Emmy Awards, but I think that each look is distinctive in it’s own way. The Versace gown was more of a feminine take on amour and the Ralph & Russo gown is a much more regal old Hollywood moment. I would have Emilia take cues from the runway styling this gown with a gorgeous diamond statement necklace, a loose updo, smokey eye, nude sandals, and a pink lip to really make this a major moment.Jennifer Hudson was part of the video montage that announced the Oscar nominations and I wonder if that means that she will be seen on Oscar night. We have not been told yet if JHud is going to be one of the many presenters next weekend, but whether or not she is I would still love to see her on the Vanity Fair party red carpet. I love when Jennifer really brings bold color to the red carpet and I think that she would look gorgeous wearing this chartreuse Romona Keveza Spring 2017 RTW beaded gown which gown features a strapless neckline, a fitted bodice, and a column maxi skirt. I would add a bit of a trailing chiffon train to the back of this gown to add to the proportions because I think the drama would just really make Jennifer stand out on the Vanity Fair red carpet. Adding a statement diamond necklace, smokey eye, red lip, sleek pixie, gold sandals and a gold clutch would add the perfect finishing touches to this party ready ensemble. I always love seeing Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet and I was hoping that her performance in Queen of Katwe was going to get her some sort of nomination this season, but alas that hasn’t happened. We haven’t see Lupita on the red carpet at an awards event since she was one of the guests at the Academy Governors Awards back in November last year. If Lupita steps out for the Vanity Fair party I would love to see her go for something really visual and take a huge risk. The Viktor & Rolf Spring 2017 Couture collection was my favorite of all the couture collections and I think that Lupita would just make this patchwork hybrid dress really come to life on the red carpet. Only certain seasoned red carpet stars could make a dress like this work and I honestly believe that Lupita is among the ranks of the few who could. With the dress being such a visual statement I would just finish this look with a smokey eye, glossy lip, and a pair of gold sandals. It was recently announced that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is pregnant with her first child with partner Jason Statham. I had this uber sexy gown picked our for the former Victoria’s Secret model to wear on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party, where the couple is a usual guest, but that all changed first thing this morning when I saw this grey embellished Michael Kors Fall 2017 RTW dress on the runway and knew that it would make the perfect look for Rosie to wear on the red carpet, and that if it was turned into a full length gown with a dramatic train that it would make for the perfect first look for the pregnant supermodel. Last year Blake Lively won my Best Maternity Style Award and it is very possible that Rosie could take that honor this year (though Amal Clooney is also preggers (WITH TWINS!)) Pairing this gown with loose waves, a lined eye, red lip, diamond drop earrings, a matching grey satin clutch, and silver sandals would really make this a total wow moment for Rosie on the red carpet.
Oscar Night 2017 is Sunday February 26, 2017.
