This season Pamella Roland probably delivered her best runway show ever. Since launching her label in 2004 Pamella Roland has slowly gained traction with the red carpet world. For the longest time it seemed like she was set to dress TV stars for her red carpet career, but recently she has just been having some major moments on the red carpet. Her Fall 2017 RTW collection, inspired by Mark Rothko’s abstract expressionism specifically his use of color and the way he achieves texture in his pieces. The collection is rendered in shades of tobacco, amethyst, garnet, moss, onyx, and aubergine in custom printed devoré, stretch crepe, mesh organza, leather, and double-faced cashmere. Pamella’s signature evening silhouettes with feather accents are shown alongside classically sharp and tailored separates. I think that is what I loved most about this collection. Pamella showcased a very elevated take on day wear along her evening wear and those were some of the strongest looks of the season. Out of each of the looks in this collection it was difficult to pick my favorite I could see Teyana Taylor (who was front row and the show was held for) wearing the onyx, moss and aubergine strapless 3D organza bustier top paired with black velvet pants for the Grammy Awards while the gunmetal and grey sequin ballgown with ostrich feathers would not look out of place on someone like Halle Berry at the Oscars or Eva Longoria on the red carpet at Cannes. So many potential red carpet moments lie in this collection. Some of the stars that I can see wearing this collection include Gina Rodriguez, Elizabeth Banks, Hailee Steinfeld, Angelina Jolie, Emily Blunt, Victoria Justice, Zendaya, Lea Michele, Carmen Ejogo, America Ferrera, Lily Collins, Karlie Kloss, AnnaSophia Robb, Jaime Alexander, Jennifer Hudson, Ciara, Holland Roden, Sarah Paulson, Mena Suvari, Miranda Kerr, Anna Kendrick, Camilla Belle, Dianna Agron, Michelle Trachtenberg, Odette Annable, Sophia Bush, Amy Adams, Sarah Hyland, Ariana Grande, Heidi Klum, Kaley Cuoco, and Carrie Underwood. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see the first look from this collection on a red carpet.
