2017 BAFTA Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

amy-adams-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1The second busiest night of awards season is coming up on February 12, 2017. I say it’s the second busiest night because there are the BAFTA Awards and the Grammy Awards on the same night, the busiest night of awards season is definitely Oscar night. First we will explore my wishes for the BAFTA Awards. The BAFTA’s will be the final big awards show where Amy Adams will step out as a nominee. Nominated for Best Actress for her role in Arrival I am expecting that Amy will deliver something pretty, but not a huge statement. I think that this gorgeous red Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2017 Couture draped silk satin gown which features a draped v-neckline and bias cut would be gorgeous on Amy. I love it when Amy wears red, actually when any redhead wears red, and I think that this very classic gown would look gorgeous on Amy. I would love to see Amy style this gown with matching red satin peep toe pumps, a red lip, chic updo, and a statement diamond collar necklace to really turn this gown into a red carpet home run for her last nominated red carpet of the season. catherine-duchess-of-cambridge-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1It has been confirmed that Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge will both attend this years BAFTA Awards. This will not be Catherine’s first BAFTA event (she attended a gala in LA during one of their royal tours in Alexander McQueen) but it will be the first time that she will be at the big awards show. I am excited to see what the princess will bring to the red carpet (or well however she makes her appearance.) It has been rumored that the BAFTA organizers are a little worried that the duchess will upstage the stars and other nominees in attendance. I think that comes with the territory. Catherine could wear the same black lace Temperley London or black velvet Alexander McQueen gowns and she would still be one of the most buzzed about attendees. My philosophy is always go big or go home so I went with this dark grey Jenny Packham Pre-Fall 2017 ball gown which features a demure plunging neckline and sequin embellishments that remind of a starry night, without being literal. This is gorgeous and if the only bit we see of Catherine is her sitting in the royal box inside Royal Albert Hall then there will be plenty of visual interest in this gown. I would ask that Catherine style her famous locks into a romantic updo, adding a light smokey eye, pink lip, and diamond drop earrings to really round her her debut BAFTA ensemble.emma-stone-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Emma Stone is leading the race to the Oscars in the Best Actress category and I am sure that she will be on top form from now until she has that little gold man in her hand. For the BAFTA Awards, where she is also nominated for Best Actress thanks to her performance in La La Land I would love to see Emma wearing this gorgeous black strapless Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture tiered velvet ballgown which features a crystal rope belt. I think that this gown would be gorgeous on Emma, a big glamorous ballgown is exactly what the doctor ordered. High glamour and extreme elegance two ingredients to cook up another best dressed moment for Emma. An elegant updo, red lip, black patent Christian Louboutin ‘Madame Menule’ strass embellished bow pumps, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Emma. kate-bosworth-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Kate Bosworth was on the red carpet at the EE Rising Star Nominee Party in London which I am hoping is a sign that she will be one of the presenters at the BAFTA Awards. Kate is one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet so I am really hoping that she will be at this year’s BAFTA’s. Kate has never worn Atelier Versace on the red carpet and honestly what better place to give it a shot than on a major awards show red carpet. I think that this light pink Atelier Versace Spring 2017 Couture gown which drapes pleated chiffon and embellished texture would be an amazing moment for Kate to wear on the BAFTA red carpet. The glamour of this gown is very 90’s and I think that Kate’s classic elegance would really make this a gorgeous moment on the red carpet. Finishing the look with a sleek bun, gold Charlotte Olympia ‘Wallace’ sandals, a light pink lip, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would really turn this look into the perfect first outing for Kate and Atelier Versace.michelle-williams-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Michelle Williams has been the least inspiring nominee on the red carpet this awards season. I am just very much over Michelle always wearing custom Louis Vuitton gowns on the red carpet because she just doesn’t breathe life into Nicolas Ghesquière’s edgy designs. Since I am over the partnership I think that for the BAFTA’s that Michelle should give me something different for once. I would love to see Michelle hit the BAFTA red carpet, where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Manchester by the Sea, that this pastel mint green Chanel Spring 2017 Couture silk tea length gown which features silver embellishments and a metallic silver belt. The gown is one of those that a classic beauty would look gorgeous wearing on the red carpet and Michelle would do it an amazing justice. Finishing the look with a pair of silver Louis Vuitton ‘Showcase’ sandals, sleek hairstyle, pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, a silver Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ clutch would ensure that Michelle still fulfills her Louis Vuitton ambassador duties while still giving me something different.natalie-portman-2017-bafta-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Natalie Portman is very pregnant and currently in LA and I wonder if she will make the jaunt across the pond for the BAFTA Awards where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her title role in Jackie. At the Golden Globe’s Natalie really channeled Jackie Kennedy in a canary yellow custom Prada gown and more of a cream duvet Christian Dior gown for the SAG Awards. I decided that there wasn’t really any other pregnancy friendly gowns from the Dior collections so I shunned the brand in favor of this blush pink Monique Lhuillier Spring 2017 RTW gown which features a deep v-neckline, cut outs at the shoulders, and an embellished bodice. I think that this flowing gown would drape ever so elegantly over Natalie’s baby bump making it the perfect look for a lady who is getting ready to pop. Finishing the look with powder pink Christian Dior embellished low heel pumps, a sleek bun, light pink lip, and Christian Dior High Jewellery ‘Salon de Mars Briolette’ diamond and pink sapphire earrings to really pull this look together perfectly.Rounding out today’s wishes is the gorgeous Ruth Negga who has burst onto the fashion scene this year capturing spots on best dressed lists away from red carpet veterans. While she was edged out in the Best Actress category Ruth is nominated for the EE Rising Star Award with a host of other amazing talent. Ruth is one of two in the category who in their first awards season have been nominated for an Academy Award. I would love to see Ruth go for bold on the BAFTA red carpet with this strapless Christian Dior Spring 2017 Couture gown which does evoke an air of 40’s Dior and Charles James. I am awaiting these gowns from this collection to be all over the red carpets and I think that Ruth is one of the best options to really bring this gown to life on the red carpet. I would go full 40’s glam styling with this look with burgundy velvet Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ pumps, vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond, emerald, and ruby statement necklace, finger waves, smokey eye, and nude lip.
