Now that the SAG Awards are over we are officially on the dash to the Oscars. Last night Emma Stone took home the Actor statue for Best Actress, which bodes really well for her winning the Oscar on February 26, 2017. Before we get there the next stop for the Oscar nominees is the Nominees Luncheon where they will meet and greet with each other and do a whole lot campaigning for votes. For the luncheon red carpet I would love to see Emma hit the red carpet wearing this gorgeous emerald and black Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2017 long sleeve mini-dress which dress features a lace mock neck, lace cutout details, and Juliet style sleeves. This dress might be a little more cocktail than the Nominees Luncheon red carpet usually calls for, but I think that Emma has the chops to really make it work on the red carpet. With a pair of black lace Christian Louboutin ‘Neoalto’ pointed toe pumps, casual updo, and a smokey eye would really make this the perfect luncheon look for Emma. Meryl Streep snuck in a nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her performance in Florence Foster Jenkins. I don’t know if Meryl will attend the Nominees luncheon next Monday because she doesn’t have the best track record of attending when she isn’t a front runner to actually take home the coveted little gold man, for which she already has 3. If she does show up I think that this black square duchesse satin Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2017 coat dress which features a rounded neckline, a exposed front zipper, and a square print would be perfect. Meryl as a very elegant style and has been experimenting with styles and labels more and more recently and I think that this dress would be a perfect addition to her recent repertoire. To make this look more Meryl I would have her wear this dress with a black belt, black pumps, and soft makeup, to really make it another great look for Meryl on the red carpet. Ever since I first saw this lime green Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2017 twist front dress which features an asymmetrical neckline and draped waist in the lookbook I have been trying to find the perfect red carpet for Naomie Harris to wear it for, and I think that the Oscar Nominees Luncheon would be the perfect place. Naomie is never one to shy away from the bold and I think that since she is campaigning against front-runner Viola Davis for the Best Supporting actress award that Naomie will really be bringing it from now until Oscar night. This dress is formal yet casual enough for this red carpet and I honestly think that Naomie would really slay her way through this event. Going a bit of the matchy matchy route with a pair of lime green Gianvito Rossi ‘Moijto’ sandals adding a gold metallic box clutch, loose waves, and a smokey eye would really make this another amazing red carpet moment. At the SAG Awards last night Nicole Kidman showed me that she can make an effort and make that effort pay off wearing a dazzling green sequin Gucci gown, and I am hoping that mojo will continue through the rest of the race to the Oscars where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. While couture isn’t usually the first thing that one thinks of when they think of Luncheon attire I think that this Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2017 Couture ensemble which features an off the shoulder striped silk peasant blouse, black pencil skirt, and thick black belt is a perfect look for her to wear on the red carpet. I think that this look would be the perfect ensemble to really make Nicole the fashion plate that I know that she can be on the road to the Oscars. A pair of black suede and nappa leather Jimmy Choo ‘Vanessa’ pointed toe pumps, a loose updo, and nude lip would make this couture look luncheon ready. Ruth Negga was the surprise nomination amongst the ladies nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. I was hoping that Ruth would make the cut instead of Meryl, but instead she beat out Amy Adams to round out this years crop of Best Actress nominees. For the Nominees Luncheon I think that this white Thom Browne Pre-Fall 2017 short sleeved shirt style dress would be perfection. Thom Browne has been gaining a lot of red carpet traction and I would really love to see the label continue to gain red carpet moments as the year moves forward. Finishing the look with short curls, a dark berry lip, and a pair of Paul Andrew ‘Zenadia’ Swedish pine damask pumps would make this the perfect luncheon ensemble for Ruth.
