Runway Report: Ronald van der Kemp Spring 2017 Couture

runway-report-ronald-van-der-kemp-spring-2017-couture-1Today we are just traveling decades as I review the last of the Spring 2017 Couture collections. We started with the 80s at Vauthier to the 50’s and 60’s at Saab and now we are back to the 80s with Ronald van der Kemp Spring 2017 Couture. This collection is neon and punk and full 80’s hair band glam that will definitely speak to the ladies of music and modeling worlds. The looks were absolutely amazing. From updated LBD’s to plaid on plaid on plaid, to strong shoulders there really weren’t a many looks where there wasn’t something that I really liked from it. My favorite look from the collection was a yellow and black velvet long sleeve column gown which features a leg-o-mutton style shoulder and a sexy split at the color line. I think that someone like Cate Blanchett would really take that gown and make it a graceful, yet edgy, red carpet moment.runway-report-ronald-van-der-kemp-spring-2017-couture-2 runway-report-ronald-van-der-kemp-spring-2017-couture-3

Since this collection is a little (or a lot) out there it will take a special kind of lady to really make these looks work on a red carpet. Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Michelle Monaghan, Lily Collins, Freida Pinto, Zendaya, Jane Fonda, Olivia Wilde, Sonam Kapoor, Selena Gomez, Juliette Binoche, Taylor Swift, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lopez, Emma Stone, Milla Jovovich, Kirsten Dunst, Fan Bingbing, Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora, Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, Lady Gaga, Ciara, Katy Perry, Iman, Diane Kruger are all people that I think have the chops to make this collection work. runway-report-ronald-van-der-kemp-spring-2017-couture-4You can see all my favorite looks from the Spring/Summer 2017 Couture collections, and my immediate wishes of who I want to see wearing them on my Pinterest page.
