Runway Report: Alexis Mabille Pre-Fall 2017

runway-report-alexis-mabille-pre-fall-2017-1I have my favorite designers, and most of them people have never heard of or rarely heard of. Alexis Mabille is one of those labels. While in couture circles Alexis is a very well know designer the brand has very little international brand exposure. Which really disappoints me because collection after collection I fall further and further in love. While Alexis Mabille is primarily an evening wear label, there are still some really great, perfectly tailored casual pieces as well. I personally want the gold button detailed black trench coat pictured below. The Pre-Fall 2017 collection was really just a presentation of classics with a new modern and updated twist. Sometimes we just need pretty and refined glamour, and that is exactly what this collection is. While I love all the looks from this collection the dark green gold button detailed long sleeve gown was my absolute standout favorite look. Someone like Isabelle Huppert would really bring this gown to absolute red carpet life. Her effortless French glamour would really work perfectly on Isabelle. runway-report-alexis-mabille-pre-fall-2017-2This collection has such red carpet potential. At every flip of the lookbook I found myself saying “Ooooo I want (insert celebrity name here) to wear that.” After Isabelle Huppert other stars I would love to see wearing this collection on the red carpet include Anne Hathaway, Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, Sonam Kapoor, Karolina Kurkova, Nina Dobrev, Riley Keough, Ruby Rose, Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, Zoe Saldana, Anna Kendrick, Lea Seydoux, Berenice Bejo, Annette Bening, Claire Foy, Marion Cotillard, Elle Fanning, Jennifer Lawrence, Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse, Dita Von Teese, Natasha Poly, Lily Donaldson, Ashley Greene, Keira Knightley, and Dakota Fanning. runway-report-alexis-mabille-pre-fall-2017-3You can see all my favorite looks, and who I think should wear them, from the Pre-Fall 2017 collections over on my Pinterest page.
