2017 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Television Drama Red Carpet Wish List

caitriona-balfe-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Rolling on with my 2017 Golden Globe Awards wishes means that I am now officially onto the nominees in the television categories. I am intrigued to see what this years nominees bring since this will be a first time win, and a lot of first time nominations, for the women in this category. Caitriona Balfe is celebrating her second nomination in a row for her role on the Starz series Outlander. I would say that Caitriona is the peoples favorite to take home this trophy this year. There was such an outcry after Outlander was shut out of the 2016 Emmy Awards and I think we might see Cait take home the Globe on Sunday. I have not been the biggest fan of anything that Caitriona has worn on the red carpet in the last year, in fact several of her looks I nominated for Worst Dressed of the Year (though she didn’t make the cut (but barely.)) I would love to really see Caitriona start to shine on the red carpet come the Globes red carpet on Sunday. I think that this ivory satin long gown from the Lanvin Spring 2017 RTW collection which features a reversed low-cut neckline, a gold waistband, and a floral broach at the lapel would be the perfect way to help Caitriona restore my faith in her red carpet dressing abilities. I think that the effortless elegance of this gown would really shine on Caitriona, and it would give the new Bouchra Jarrar helmed Lanvin its first major red carpet moment. The styling I would add to this look include a sleek low ponytail, yellow gold set diamond ear cuff, gold clutch, red lip, and black sandals to really bring the glamour to the forefront on Caitriona. claire-foy-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Claire Foy, who is nominated for playing Queen Elizabeth 2 in the Netflix series The Crown, is nominated for her first Golden Globe Award, and will be gracing her first major red carpet on Sunday night. I was taken with Claire’s pink and gold brocade Erdem dress at the shows premiere in London and I think that Claire would be the perfect person to really bring a British label to the Globes red carpet. I would love to see Claire hit the Globes red carpet in this light powder blue Ralph & Russo Spring 2016 Couture strapless ball gown which features gold embroidery and a rosette texture. Last year there was only one look from Ralph & Russo on the red carpet and it was on a supermodel who was just there as a guest, so this would be the labels first real major moment on the Globes red carpet. Most Ralph & Russo styles are just a little too much, perfect for the Oscars, Cannes, or the Met but usually not the Globes. This gown would be perfect. It has the right amount of drama for this red carpet. Round this look out with a chic updo, pink lip, and gold pumps to really make this a true statement for Claire. After picking up a Critics Choice Award for her performance in Westworld Evan Rachel Wood is probably the leading front runner for the Best Actress in a Television Drama at the Golden Globe Awards next Sunday. With that in mind I am making a very dramatic choice with this black Olivier Theyskens Spring 2017 RTW strapless belted ball gown which features a dramatic train. I have been waiting for the two gorgeous gowns from this collection to get red carpet moments and sadly they haven’t but I really think that Evan would be the perfect person to bring this gown to life on the red carpet. While the gown is a statement in its own right I would add a statement vintage gold set emerald and diamond Cartier necklace to add a punch of sparkle around Evans neck. Finishing the look with a wavy pixie, lined eye, red lip, and black Christian Louboutin ‘Marchavekel’ knotted sandals would really make this one of my favorite looks of the night.keri-russell-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Keri Russell has potential to be one of the women who can dominate best dressed lists, but she rarely lives up to it. I am hoping that when the The Americans star takes to the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday that she shows up in full glam mode. I think that Keri would look gorgeous on the red carpet wearing this gorgeous one shoulder Vionnet Spring 2017 RTW grey gown which features stunning pleated drapery. Keri’s favorite color to wear is black and I just lightened it a little for this red carpet. I am not wishing for her to show up in bold red or hot pink just something that is not basic. Everything about this look screams soft, moody glamour. I would round this look out with a gold clutch (to match the belt,) a pair of gold sandals, old Hollywood waves, a smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of gold set diamond drop earrings to really send this look into best dressed territory for Keri.

I will be live-tweeting the red carpet and ceremony of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards starting at 6PM EST. Grab a glass of champagne and follow me on Twitter to find out what all the stars are wearing on the red carpet.

  1. Golly! All of these dresses are equally fabulous, hun. You have great taste. Very similar to mine, in fact! I am also a huge fan of Lanvin and Olivier Theyskens. I love their looks. I love your choice of color palettes, too. That Ralph & Russo dress is a lovely shade of lavender. Love the ruffles and the gold accents, too!
