2017 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama Nominee Red Carpet Wish List

amy-adams-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Happy New Year everyone! What better way to kick off 2017 than with my wishes for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards? I am very excited to see what is going to happen come Sunday night as the carpet kicks off the first televised red carpet of awards season. First up on my wish lists are the women nominated for Best Actress in a Movie – Drama. Amy Adams is nominated for her role in the film Arrival and has been a favorite to move on to an Oscar nomination, so I am very excited to see what she will show up on the Golden Globe red carpet wearing. I picked the only non couture look in this list for Amy with this absolutely stunning aqua Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 ball gown features an off the shoulder style neckline, allover beaded bodice, and cascading ruffle full length skirt. This is a very eye popping look which will stand out on a rainy red carpet (there is currently a 60% chance of rain in LA next weekend, which really sucks.) This is one of the gowns from this collection that I HAVE to see on a red carpet and I really do think that Amy would look absolutely fantastic wearing this gown. The color would look gorgeous against her peachy skin and and red hair. I would really let the gown do the talking, since it is such a big statement, by pairing this look with a chic updo, smokey eye, nude glossy lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of silver sandals.isabelle-huppert-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Isabelle Huppert is a classic French beauty. Last year we saw Isabelle hit the carpet wearing effortless chic looks and I don’t expect that to change any time soon. Nominated at the Globes for her work in the French film Elle, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year, I think that this mauve and black Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture gown would be perfect for Isabelle to wear for the red carpet. From the fully beaded long sleeve top to the black velvet skirt and the bow on the hip this gown just screams Isabelle’s style to me. Her classic effortless waves, a dark lip, lined eye, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black pumps would really show off Isabelle’s effortless style.jessica-chastain-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1I think that Jessica Chastain’s performance in Miss Sloane was the surprise moment of this years Golden Globe nominations. I am very excited that Jessica is going to be on the Globes red carpet as she is always a favorite. I went for something with a little more Drama than Jessica usually wears on the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards. This sapphire blue Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture one shoulder gown which features elegant draping and a gorgeous starburst embellishment on the waist band would be gorgeous on Jessica and I think that for the Globes that this would be a killer knock out look. The drama of the rich color of this gown and the train really would make this a winning red carpet moment for Jessica. And since she seems to have an aversion to carrying a clutch on the red carpet (I can remember exactly one time she carried one) this gown would stand on its own with just a chic updo, red lip, diamond and sapphire cluster earrings, a diamond bracelet, and a pair of navy sandals to round it out. natalie-portman-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Natalie Portman, from what I have read, is in a neck and neck race with Amy Adams to take home the Golden Globe next Sunday. With that being the thought I would imagine that Natalie will be bringing her A-game to the red carpet. I kind of expect that Natalie will be wearing custom Christian Dior Couture on the red carpet (since there really isn’t anything from the runways that is suitable for her burgeoning baby bump) but since I cannot predict what custom gowns will look like I still go and find something from the runway. I think that Natalie would be gorgeous on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing this absolutely amazing grey-ish lavender Giambattista Valli Fall 2016 Couture one shoulder gown which features an embellished waistband. This flowing gown would drape ever so elegantly over Natalie’s baby bump and she would look like an old Hollywood goddess. A chic updo, silver Dior clutch, a pair of silver Dior sandals, smokey eye, nude lip and a pair of gorgeous statement Christian Dior high jewelry ‘verticale godete saphir’ earrings would make this a look that Jackie-O would be proud of.ruth-negga-2017-golden-globe-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Rounding out the Best Actress in a Movie – Drama nominees is the gorgeous red carpet newcomer Ruth Negga, who is nominated for her work in the film Loving. I am really excited to see what Ruth is going to bring to the red carpet as she had a lot of great gets brand wise in 2016 and quite a few beautiful moments over the course of the year. For this red carpet, her first major televised red carpet, I think that this absolutely stunning Armani Prive Spring 2014 Couture strapless a-line gown which features a peplum detail, embroidered lace, full beaded crystal strips would be the perfect choice. My description of the detail of this gown really holds no candle to what it really is. I recommend clicking here and seeing all the detail that is really in this gown. I would love to see Ruth let this gown do all the talking by styling this look with simple curls, a red lip, diamond cluster earrings, a navy satin clutch, and a pair of navy sandals to really make her the center of attention on her first big awards red carpet.

I will be live-tweeting the red carpet and ceremony of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards starting at 6PM EST. Grab a glass of champagne and follow me on Twitter to find out what all the stars are wearing on the red carpet.
