Next Sunday, the same night as the Golden Globe Awards, there will be another big event happening. On the other side of the world in New York City Cate Blanchett will be making her Broadway debut in The Present which is being brought to Broadway thanks to the Sydney Theater Company. In the past Cate has never worn a formal look to the opening night of a play that she has been in, and I don’t think that is going to change any time soon. I did however go with something a little more formal that what Cate usually wears for a shows opening night. I think that this ivory Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 ensemble which features a ruffle sleeve jacket, silk stripe cami, and classic bootleg trousers would be absolutely perfect. This modern, feminine take on tuxedo dressing is a perfect look for Cate because she has the presence to really make this look come across effortless. For a Broadway premiere what more would you want? Effortless and glamorous. All I would add to this look is a chic old Hollywood wavy bob, a smokey eye, pink lip, and a pair of gold pumps to really send this look over the top.
