Keeping moving forward with my Palm Springs International Film Festival wishes is the always gorgeous Emma Stone. While Emma herself isn’t being honored for her spectacular performance in La La Land the film is being honored with the Vanguard Award and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominated actress is on hand at the ceremony to help support the film. I feel like I have really embraced the Pre-Fall 2017 collections but they were just really good. I have been loving the pre-collections more than the in season collections recently and that is blowing my mind. I would love to see Emma hit the Palm Springs Film Festival red carpet wearing wear this absolutely gorgeous yet avant garde Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 ensemble. This look features a sleeveless Chinese dragon embellished white t-shirt, a full black bell shaped tea length skirt, and a light pink velvet waist band all tied together with a simple black bow. I don’t think that there are many people brave enough to try and wear this silhouette on the red carpet, but I think that Emma would seriously kill wearing this gown. Since the look is such a statement I would just pair this look with a simple pair of black Gucci knotted sandals, a chic updo, smokey eye, and light pink lip to really show why Emma is a red carpet force to be reckoned with. The last time Natalie Portman had an awards season run where she was nominated ironically she was also pregnant. That was the beginning of her relationship with Dior as the face of the Miss Dior fragrance. I am praying that this is not going to be a season full of Dior looks from Natalie. She has already shown that she is willing to break that mold by wearing Alexander McQueen for the Critics Choice Awards, and I am hoping that we see a lot of variety in terms of labels from Natalie on the road to the Oscars. I would love to see Natalie wearing this gorgeous dusty rose Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2017 draped gown which features two tone fabrics, a flutter sleeve, beaded embellishments, and a silk bow waist band for the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala where she is going to be honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her work in Jackie. I think that this gown would drape so elegantly over Natalie’s baby bump. While I suspect that Natalie will go for something short I do really believe that this would be a great look for her to wear, if not for this red carpet maybe for something like the SAG Awards. Adding a rose gold Dior clutch, rose gold pumps, a chic vintage inspired updo, smokey eye, nude lip, and a pair of Dior high jewellery ‘salon de mars briolette’ earrings would really just send this look over the top for me. I have to applaud Octavia Spencer for all her loyalties to Tadashi Shoji, but some of her looks have just been too similar to each other so I am going to do some wishing for designers for her to wear over the course of awards season. I think that for the Palm Springs International Film Festival black tie awards gala, where she is part of the cast of Hidden Figures which is being honored with the Ensemble Performance Award, I would love to see Octavia hit the red carpet wearing this gorgeous Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2017 floral embroidered bellow the knee organza cocktail dress which features a V neckline, allover floral embroidery, and ruffle cap sleeves. Zac has been known for really embracing women with curves (he loves dressing stars like Viola Davis, Christina Hendricks, and Gina Rodriguez) so I am sure that he would be a great choice for Octavia to turn to to ensure that what she is wearing is flattering to her curves. I think that this style would look extremely elegant on Octavia and she would definitely take the red carpet by storm. I would add a statement clutch in one of the many colors in the embroidery, a chic bun, black peep toe pumps, emerald earrings, a smokey eye, and a nude lip to really ensure that this is a statement look for Octavia.Rounding out my wishes for the Palm Springs International Film Festival black tie awards gala is another member of the Best Ensemble winning cast of Hidden Figures Taraji P. Henson. When most go for something cocktail or a very simple evening dress for the Palm Springs Film Festival black tie awards gala I would expect that Taraji will go for something dramatic. There is something a little extra about Taraji’s style and I love it. I would never normally look at this red Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2017 one shoulder gown which features a daring split, stomach cutout, and dramatic train and think of this event, except for someone like Taraji. As Oscar Wilde once said “one can never be overdressed” and that is exactly what I think of when I think of Taraji. I would love to see Taraji pair this look with a sleek blunt bob, smokey eye, a statement diamond bracelet, and a pair of red sandals to really let the gown do all the talking as she walks the red carpet.
You can bet that I will be tweeting the looks from this red carpet as soon as they start to hit the picture sites. Who are you looking forward to seeing? Let me know in the comments bellow.
