After my very short break for the holidays I am back! 2017 is going to bring a lot of great new things and that is going to start on January 2, 2017 with the black tie awards gala at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. This is always the annual kickoff to the in year awards season and stars do show up. Unlike events like the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, or Oscars the winners of this event are announced so while it is still a black tie event there is more of an air of celebration and anxiousness. For this red carpet I would love to see Amy Adams is going to be taking home the Chairman’s Award next Monday and I can not wait to see what is going to happen. Amy has been wearing a lot of similar styles on the red carpet recently and with what can be a killer red carpet run to the Oscars so I am hoping that we will start to see a little variation throughout the season. I would love to see Amy hit the Palm Spring International Film Festival awards gala red carpet wearing this dusty rose J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2017 tea length tulle gown which features a plunging neckline and floral lace embroideries. It has been a very long time since I have seen Amy in this color and I really think that this would be amazing on her peachy skin and gorgeous red hair. A pair of simple rose gold pumps, a rose pink lip, and old Hollywood waves would definitely turn this into a killer red carpet look to kick off awards season 2017 for Amy.We know that Janelle Monae sticks to a very limited black and white wardrobe (with the occasional pop of red) when it comes to her red carpet dressing. That is going to get very old very quick if she continues that from the Palm Springs International Film Festival red carpet to the Oscars then she may end up on my indifferent list. I will be starting to infuse some colors I would love to see Janelle wear, but not quite yet. I have decided to re-see a wish I originally posted for Janelle to wear for the New York Film Festival. I think that this gorgeous black Giambattista Valli Fall 2016 Couture velvet mini dress which which features three quarter length sleeves, puffy sleeves, and embellished lace detailing. Not many have taken to this collection since that these looks are really avant garde and hard to pull off. I think that Janelle has the perfect elegance to make this look work on the red carpet and really give this dress the moment that it deserves. A pair of black and white sandals, a chic bun, and a bold red lip would be the perfect finishing touches for this dramatic, yet glamorous moment. Nicole Kidman is another who is set for a very glamorous red carpet run over the next few months. With the honor of the International Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala. I am hoping that Nicole will deliver a string of major moments over the course of awards season and it is all going to start on Monday. I would LOVE to see Nicole hit the red carpet wearing this black lace Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 gown which features a daring side split, three-quarter bell shaped sleeves, floral embroidery, and a wide black satin belt. The moment I saw this gown while flipping through the collection’s lookbook I gasped when I saw this gown and then my mind immediately went to Nicole. I tend to find that my favorite Nicole Kidman looks come courtesy of the looks she wears when she is supporting her husband, and I am hoping some of that magic is communicated through her looks over awards season. This look would be perfectly complete with a pair of black sandals, a red clutch, sleek ponytail, pink lip, and a smokey eye.Rounding out this set of wishes is one of my Ones to Watch in 2017, Ruth Negga. The gorgeous actress made her big red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival wearing custom Marc Jacobs. It seems only fitting that Ruth is going to be honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala with the Rising Star Award and from what I have seen of her performance in Loving it is an honor well earned. I decided that since it will be her first honor of awards season I decided to break out the full couture gown. I adore this gorgeous black and gold J. Mendel Fall 2016 Couture embellished gown and I think that Ruth will slay her way through this red carpet in the most glamorous way possible. I go back and forth on weather or not I want to have this gown modified for Ruth to remove the the off the shoulder detailing, but I think that she would look gorgeous in the gown either way. What do you think, should she have the detail removed? Which ever way the gown is worn I would still style it the same way. A bold red lip, black and gold strappy sandals, and 20s inspired finger waves. All these details would make Ruth the epitome of glamour personified.
Who are you most looking forward to seeing on the red carpet at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards gala? How about all through awards season? Let me know in the comments.
