2016 End of the Year Style Awards: Ones to Watch

Last year’s Ones to Watch included Alicia Vikander, Gal Gadot, and Zoe Kazan. Only one of those ladies didn’t really pull anything major out this last year. 2017 I am predicting is going to be a great year and we are going to see a lot of fresh faces on the red carpet. I picked my 3 ladies who are really the ones to watch in the coming year. First is Ella Purnell whom I first noticed wearing Dior Couture for the Dior Cruise 2017 presentation and then showed some of her chops as she promoted her film Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children late this year. With her rising star status cemented with fashion houses like Dior and Gucci putting her on her radar and two films set to come out next year I am very excited to see what Ella will do to raise her stakes in the red carpet game. Second is Naomie Harris who really isn’t new to the red carpet scene BUT she is looking at an Oscar nomination for her work in Moonlight so I am excited to see what her awards season run is going to bring. Recently Naomie changed stylists and is now working with Michela Erlanger (who notably dresses Lupita Nyong’o, Gal Gadot, and Michelle Dockery.) And last but not least is Ruth Negga who is already proving to be a powerhouse. Since she made her red carpet debut in custom Marc Jacobs, styled by Karla Welch, back at the Cannes Film Festival in May we have seen Ruth wearing coveted labels like Rodarte, Gucci, Valentino, Rosie Assoulin, Prada, and Givenchy Couture and I expect that she will only continue to shine through awards season. Now with the December cover of Vogue under her belt and Golden Globe and SAG nominations ahead of her it really is her time to shine.

Which lady do you think will shine the brightest in 2017?
