2016 British Independent Film Awards Red Carpet Wish List

gemma-arterton-2016-british-independent-film-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1As I have now said several times we are gearing up on our way to awards season 2017. The next stop on our red carpet wish list journey is the British Independent Film Awards, which recognize the best of English independent films on Sunday night (December 4, 2016.) Gemma Arterton has had a year with being on the jury of the Venice Film Festival then promoting films at the Toronto and London Film Festivals. Despite all that I am still yet to be blown away by one of her looks. I know that Gemma has the potential to be one of my red carpet favorites, but she just isn’t consistent enough for me. For the 2016 British Independent Film Awards I decided to go with something with a more modern take of glamour choosing this mauve shadows (no I am not making that up) Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 RTW ensemble. The ensemble includes an asymmetrical, embroidered tulle top features a long-bodied hemline with an exaggerated side slit detail, a bateau styled neckline, and a sequin swirl paillette design and a pair of high waisted silk cady flared pants. The top likens to a slashed gown paired with the pants makes this such a modern glam look, perfect for Gemma. Finishing the look with a pair of silver metallic pumps, chic waves, smokey eye, diamond drop earrings, and a silver clutch would really send this look over the moon for me. naomie-harris-2016-british-independent-film-awards-red-carpet-wish-list-1Naomie Harris is the exact opposite of Gemma. I am almost always in love with everything that Naomie wears on the red carpet. In contrast with the modern take on glamour for Gemma, I decided to go for classic glamour for Naomie to wear at the British Fashion Awards. Since she is going to be honored with the Variety Award I know that she will be on hand. I think that Naomie would be absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet wearing this black and white Carolina Herrera Spring 2017 RTW off-the-shoulder striped cocktail dress which features a two toned fabric construction, a pleated skirt, and an off the shoulder styled neckline. There has got to be something to say for someone who rocks the red carpet wearing such a classic dress. Since they are usually a dime a dozen it means that it has to be executed really well, and I think that Naomie has the grace and poise to do just that. I would add a sparking pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps, a black and white Edie Parker clutch, old Hollywood waves, and a red lip to really drive home the classic glamour of this look.
