The 2016 Emmy Awards are just over a week away and I am excited to see what the biggest night in television is going to bring. The red carpet can be very different from top label couture to things that should never see the light of day. I am hoping that all the stars nominated, presenting and just attending will be all over some amazing looks. Amy Schumer talked about the Met Gala saying “I have no interest in fashion … I don’t care. … We’re dressed up like a bunch of fucking assholes.” Her custom red Alexander Wang gown at the Met was probably her best look ever. I am worried that Amy will not care anymore with her red carpet looks. I think that while she has been embraced by fashion labels like Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, and Prabal Gurung that Amy will go more the route of labels that cater more to women with curves. I think that this fit to flare black Rubin Singer Fall 2016 RTW gown which features a v-neck and cap sleeves would be an amazing red carpet look for Amy. I think it would showcase her curves in such a chic and elegant way, something that we are not used to seeing Amy wear on the red carpet. Going full glam with this look including chic old Hollywood waves, a red lip, black clutch, diamond drop earrings, black Christian Louboutin pumps would really make this a perfect red carpet moment for the gorgeous comedienne. Ellie Kemper is one of the funny ladies that take to the red carpet that has an impeccable sense of style. I love that Ellie doesn’t go to classic looks instead usually opting for avant garde, very visual gowns. Her Peter Pilotto gown at the SAG Awards was one of my favorite the looks from that red carpet this year. It will be interesting to see what Ellie will wear on the red carpet after recently giving birth. I think that this peachy gold Andrew Gn Resort 2017 sleeveless fully embellished gown would be an amazing choice. I think that with her flaming red hair and peachy skin that this gown would just look so ethereal on Ellie. A gold clutch, pink lip, a pair of gold sandals, and a gold cuff bracelet would make this an absolutely gorgeous red carpet return for Ellie. Kate McKinnon was never really one that I paid much attention to but her gorgeous blue Versace gown at the LA premiere of Ghostbusters made me take a little bit of notice. I think that Kate has the potential to do some really great things on the red carpet, she just needs a good team to get her there. For the Emmy Awards, where Kate is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live, I would love to see Kate hit the red carpet in this reddish orange Jenny Packham Resort 2017 column gown which features sheer sleeves and simple embellishments around the neck. I think that this would be a very chic but also bold, impact making look for Kate to hit the Emmy Awards red carpet wearing. I don’t always need big and dramatic to have an impactful look and this is an example of that. A clutch dyed to match, a pair of gunmetal grey sandals, a chic pair of diamond earrings and pulled back waves wold add the perfect finishing touches to this red carpet moment for Kate.
One person I am really excited to see on the Emmy Awards red carpet is Melissa McCarthy. I used to think that Melissa always looked terrible with her red carpet looks but this year she has been pulling out some amazing looks that flatter her figure and I have full heartedly approved of. I hope that she keeps her mojo going on the Emmys red carpet. I would imagine that Melissa is going to wear something custom just because she isn’t a sample size. I would love to see her have this salmon pink Vionnet Fall 2016 RTW gown made for this red carpet. I think that this gown would look so chic on Melissa, despite what most would say about the rucking at the waist. I do think that if tailored correctly that this gown would then flare out into an a-line skirt giving Melissa the perfect proportions to have a major red carpet moment on her hands. Finishing with a pair of gold pumps, red lip, and a gold clutch I think that Melissa is ready to take the Emmys red carpet by storm.
