I am getting super excited for the impending fall festival season. With every day it seems like more stars are announced for each of the major festivals and the amount of fashion that is going to be coming our way is going to be crazy. Having started to make her red carpet claim as a Chanel spokesmodel, much like her mommy Vanessa Paradis, Lily Rose Depp has been fabulous at the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival. I am excited that Lily is slated to present her next film Planetarium at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. I am wondering if she will continue her run of exclusively wearing Chanel on the red carpet, and I am expecting that she will do just that. I was looking at the latest collection and I think that Lily would look absolutely fabulous fit to flare Chanel Fall 2016 Couture tea length, tweed embellished gown. For the most part Lilly has worn very slinky style so this uber feminine style would be a bit of a departure for her, but I think that she would rock the hell out of it. Keeping the styling very vintage inspired with a pair of simple black Chanel sandals, a chic vintage inspired updo, diamond drop earrings, a statement cocktail ring, and a bold red lip would make this one of Lily’s best red carpet looks ever. Natalie Portman has been making occasional appearances this year promoting her film’s Jane Got a Gun and A Tale of Love and Darkness. At the 2016 Toronto Film Festival we are expecting to see Natalie hit the red carpet at least twice as she promotes her films Planetarium and Jackie. I have long been a fan of Natalie’s mix of glamour and edge. I am hoping that Natalie will really showcase all the glamorous and edgy sides of her style over the course of the fall festival season. For the TIFF premiere of Planetarium I went with something a little more classic and glamorous with this gorgeous Christian Dior Fall 2016 Couture sleeveless gown with a peplum style blouse and a black column skirt. I would like to see the Dior ateliers make this gown with just an embroidered blouse instead of the fur, because I don’t see the fur going well with Natalie but the style of the gown is perfect for her. I would love to see Natalie style this gown with a pair of statement pink diamond earrings (I don’t know why but it was the first thing I thought of,) a pair of black sandals, a black Dior clutch, and a red lip to really drive home the classic glamour of this look. Another day another wish for TIFF jury member Priyanka Chopra. I hope that these wishes for Priyanka are not in vain and she is just going to slinking in and out of theaters over the course of the festival. I have been enjoying watching Priyanka take on the western Hollywood scene and she has been proving to be someone to keep my eye on. When picking looks for her to wear for TIFF I tried to be varried so that she has a varried selection of options for any type of event that she does attend. For a big gala type premiere or reception I would love to see Priyanka grace the carpet in this gorgeous burnt orange Paule Ka Resort 2017 strapless draped gown which features a gathered detail on one hip. This gown is so classic in it’s style but the bold color is what would set it apart from any other like it as they would usually be black, red, red, navy, or pink. A statement necklace, chic updo, and gold pumps would make this a sure fire best dressed winner. 78American Honey will be one of the many films that is making the jaunt from Cannes to Toronto this year. I don’t know how it slipped past me then that Riley Keough was part of the cast back when I was setting up wishes for Cannes. I made sure not not to make the same mistake twice. The film is one the many that first premiered at Cannes that is now destined for TIFF. At the Cannes premiere Riley wore an absolutely gorgeous and fun custom Gucci gown and I am expecting something amazing for the films premiere at TIFF. Riley is one of the few ladies that I would absolutely adore seeing wearing this gorgeous icy blue Nina Ricci Resort 2017 silk gown which features shear beaded details. This gown is chic, glamorous, edgy, and perfect for Riley to wear on the red carpet at TIFF. Finishing off the look with a pair of silver sandals, a sleek ponytail, bright pink lip, and and edgy diamond earcuff would really ensure that this is yet another perfect look for Riley. The Secret Scripture is another film that Rooney Mara is slated to present over the course of the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. I am praying that Rooney really brings it after letting me down over the course of awards season. For this premiere I would love to see Rooney hit the carpet in this gorgeous black Giambattista Valli Fall 2016 Couture tulle mini dress which features puffy shoulders, a beaded waistband, and a tiered skirt. This would be high fashion moment for Rooney, while still sticking to her all black comfort zone. Rooney could be one of the top fashionistas but she often falls flat. This dress would make for a major moment for Rooney, maybe even one for her record books. To really drive this look home I would make sure that this look is styled to perfection with a pair of silver pumps, chic tight bun, and a bold red lip. I got really excited to see that Zhang Ziyi is slated to premiere The Wasted Times at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. It has been too long since we last saw Zhang on the red carpet and this is going to be her triumphant red carpet return. While I would love a gorgeous couture gown I don’t think that would be appropriate for this red carpet. Instead I went with this gorgeous purple Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture cocktail dress which features some gorgeous floral embellishments, a chic split, and peplum detail. I think that this is a perfect dress for TIFF and I think that Zhang would do it more than enough justice. A chic updo, dainty diamond drop earrings, a pair of gold pumps, a smokey eye, and a light pink lip would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.
The 2016 Toronto International Film Festival opens September 8, 2016 and runs through September 18, 2016.
