I first heard about Planetarium back in April when it was a potential for the Cannes Film Festival. The film didn’t get a premiere at Cannes but it has earned a slate at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. With a fabulous cast I am actually really excited about this premiere. Last year we were first introduced to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis daughter Lily Rose Depp and this year we have seen some more of her red carpet style. Like her mamma Lily Rose has found a love for Chanel, having exclusively worn the brand for the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival, and I bet that track record continues through Venice. For the photocall for Planetarium I picked this Chanel Cruise 2017 ensemble which features a blue and pink cold shoulder sweater and a pair of light pink shorts. For a photocall I think that this would be such a fun and chic look for Lily. A pair of simple blue or white Chanel sandals would finish the look perfectly. Upping the glamour for the film’s red carpet premiere I went with this 80’s inspired ivory and silver embellished Chanel Fall 2016 Couture strapless midi gown which features crumpled silk fanned at the neck and hem and a sequined body. I think that Lily would be gorgeous in this look, though I would modify the ruffle at the neck as I think that it would overwhelm Lily’s very petite frame. A chic updo, pink lip, and silver pumps would add all the perfect finishing touches to this red carpet moment for the rising fashionista. Natalie Portman is also a brand ambassador, but unlike Lily I would like to see her break her use of the brand she represents, Dior. Since Natalie has two films premiering at Venice I picked a Dior look for her to wear for the Planetarium photocall, but not for the premiere (as I have already picked a Dior gown for her.) I think that this striped and leaf printed Christian Dior Cruise 2017 long sleeved knee length gown would be absolutely gorgeous on Natalie. I think that the scarf style print of the dress is perfect for this type of an event. A pair of dark red suede pumps and fresh faced makeup would perfectly capture this look for a photocall. For the premiere I would die if Natalie took this white Giambattista Valli Spring 2016 Couture draped gown which features off the shoulder detailing and pink rose embroidered on a halter neck and gave it the red carpet moment I have been waiting for. Natalie has broken from the Dior pack and worn Giambattista Valli Couture before so I feel like this gown is not too much of a pipe dream. Adding a pink Dior clutch, silver Dior sandals, a pair of diamond and pink sapphire Dior High Jewellery ‘Salon de Mars Briolette’ chandelier earrings, a chic updo, and a soft pink lip would really make this a major moment for Natalie on the Venice Film Festival red carpet.
The 2016 Venice Film Festival opens August 31, 2016 and runs through September 10, 2016.
