Cannes 2016: Surprise Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

aishwarya-rai-cannes-2016-wish-list (1)So I have decided to do some wishes for starlets who have popped up with appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off today. I have heard that after her L’Oreal duties that Aishwarya Rai will stick around to promote her film Sarbjit in some capacity during the festival. Last year Aishwarya promoted her film Jazbaa with a photocall on a yacht in a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown, so I am interested to see what she will bring to promote Sarbjit. I am hoping that Aishwarya will bring some sort of traditional garb for one of her appearances during the festival. I love that at Cannes you see all kinds of clothing on the red carpet from couture to traditional dress. Aishwarya has brought both to the Cannes red carpet and I am hoping that will happen again this year. I picked this gorgeous Manish Malhotra Couture Beige raw silk lehenga with kashmiri tilla borders teamed with a blush raw silk jaal embroidered jacket and a matching dupatta for Aishwarya to wear to promote Sarbjit at Cannes. This look would be perfect whether or not it is just a photocall that Aishwarya attends or if she wears it on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals. A gold Christian Louboutin sandals, chic bun, & a punchy pink lip would perfectly finish this look. anna-kendrick-cannes-2016-wish-list (1)I had absolutely no idea that Anna Kendrick was going to the Cannes Film Festival until her stylist posted a picture of the famed French seaside city and hashtagged Anna’s name. Since then I have seen that a photocall station has been erected for her newest animated feature Trolls. So I am expecting that Anna will deliver one more casual look during the festival and I am hoping that for a red carpet appearance at the Palais de Festivals as well. I didn’t think about a photocall when I was picking looks for Anna, but I think that the forest green Fendi Fall 2016 RTW laser cut detail mini dress would be perfect for a Cannes photocall. I can only imagine that Anna is going to be on one of the Cannes red carpets as I don’t see her stylist flying all the way to Cannes just to style a photocall. For a red carpet at the Palais I would really love to see Anna wearing gunmetal grey Monique Lhuillier Fall 2016 RTW fully beaded gown which features a fitted column silhouette, a high neck, and allover lacquer floral embellishment. At Cannes we don’t usually see too many American designer on the red carpet, but I think that this would be a perfect look for Anna to bring to the red carpet, since it won’t be her premiere. A navy blue satin box clutch, a pair of gunmetal sandals, a chic updo, and a pair of diamond drop earrings would ensure a chic elegant red carpet look for Anna.bella-hadid-cannes-2016-wish-list (1)Bella Hadid landed at the Nice airport on Monday ahead of the Cannes Film Festival. I have learned that Bella Hadid will be one of the models at Carine Roitfeld’s fashion show during the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala next week, but since she is in Cannes so am expecting that she will make an appearance or two on the red carpets at the premieres. Bella tends to stick with black on the red carpet and that is alright because she picks dramatic black looks. Prabal Gurung has yet to have a red carpet moment at the Cannes Film Festival, but I think that this strapless black sequined gown which features a dramatic train would be a gorgeous first run for Bella and Prabal at Cannes. I have a feeling that Bella has been invited by one of the big jewelry brands at the Cannes Film Festival, like Chopard or De Grisogono, and this gown would be the perfect canvas for some stunning statement jewels. juliette-binoche-cannes-2016-wish-list (1)Juliette Binoche has Slackbay premiering at the festival, but she will be in the famed French seaside city for more than just promoting her film. Juliette is the “godmother” of the Trophee Chopard ceremony tomorrow. I am intrigued to see what she is going to wear to present this year laureates, whom are still unknown, with their trophy’s. I would love to see Juliette hand out these awards wearing this navy blue Valentino Spring 2016 Couture sleeveless gown which features detailing mimicking a pieced together patchwork. I think that this gown is so chic and elegant, perfect for this type of ceremony. I have been a champion of stars wearing the gold body chains that the looks from this collection were paired with on the runway, but I don’t think that it fit’s with Juliette’s style. A pair of navy peep toe satin pumps and a pair of diamond and sapphire Chopard earrings would perfectly complete this look for the Trophee Chopard ceremony and subsequent party.
