Cannes 2016: Closing Ceremony Red Carpet Wish List

kirsten-dunst-cannes-2016-closing-ceremony-wish-list (1)With the Cannes Film Festival officially opening tomorrow I find it only appropriate that we end today with a wish for the closing ceremony on May 22, 2016. I am really excited about this years festival. There seems to be a whole bevy of the international film community confirmed to attend, and it seems very well spaced this year. The only people I have confirmed to attend the Closing Ceremony are the two fashionable women of this year’s feature film jury. I am really hoping that Kirsten Dunst really showcases her red carpet mojo over the course of the festival, culminating in a glamorous send off. I picked this ivory Valentino Spring 2016 couture Grecian goddess draped gown which features embroidered butterflies on the hem. This is one of those looks that I think that made for Cannes, and I think that Kirsten would look so ethereal and glamorous gliding down the carpet at the closing ceremony in it.  vanessa-paradis-cannes-2016-closing-ceremony-wish-list (1)I can almost guarantee that Vanessa Paradis will wear Chanel for the Closing Ceremony. I have spoken enough about hoping that Vanessa doesn’t wear Chanel for everything but it is sure to be on this red carpet. I dug through the archives to find the perfect look for Vanessa to wear on the red carpet for the closing ceremony and when I came across this white Chanel Spring 2010 Couture draped gown with gold foil detailing I knew I had found the perfect look. I don’t think that many could make this gown work off the runway, but I think that the vintage inspired drapery and the modern metallic detailing work perfectly with Vanessa’s red carpet style. Some beachy waves, a smokey eye, and gold sandals would really round out this look perfectly for the Cannes closing ceremony red carpet.

The 2016 Cannes Film Festival opens tomorrow May 11, 2016 and runs through May 22, 2016.
