We are almost to the opening of the festival and I just keep getting more and more excited. I am very excited to see what will come out of the gala screening of the animated film The BFG by Steven Spielberg on Saturday. Rebecca Hall was one of my favorites when she first burst onto the scene with her fashion choices while promoting The Town back in 2010. I am really hoping that Rebecca is on top form when she presents the film at Cannes. For the photocall I went with this pink and red Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2016 sheath dress which features cutout details. I think that this is a chic and bold look and would put Rebecca back on the fashion map. For the premiere I would love to see Rebecca have her first couture moment wearing this white Giambattista Valli Spring 2016 Couture draped gown which features a cluster of pink embroidered roses on an illusion halter. Cannes is the perfect time of the first wear couture and this would be so chic and elegant on the red carpet. A chic updo, light pink diamond cushion cut diamond drop earrings, silver sandals, a light pink satin clutch, and a pink lip would ensure that Rebecca has a glorious return to the red carpet when she takes to Cannes to premiere The BFG.The red carpet at the premiere of The BFG is expected to be one of the more glamorous days as it is one of the special gala screenings. So I do think that the feature film jury will be out on the red carpet. Out of all my wishes for Kirsten Dunst this is probably the most out there, and the most that I am concerned that she wouldn’t be able to pull off. I honestly think that this ombré blush pink Marchesa Fall 2016 RTW gown which features dramatic organza ruffles and golden floral threadwork would be absolutely gorgeous on Kirsten, but I believe that there is the potential that this gown could overwhelm Kirsten. With height, at 5’7″, on her side I think that it is just all the amount of fabric involved with creating this gown. Finish with a sleek hairstyle (as to not compete with the dress), dainty diamond earrings, and a pair of gold sandals would ensure that Kirsten has a gorgeous red carpet moment.I have also picked a rather difficult to pull off yet dramatic gown for Vanessa Paradis to wear on the red carpet. This black and white Chanel Fall 2013 Couture gown with ruffled bustle and window pane sequin column style would be absolutely amazing. I would remove the wide belt that the gown was paired with on the runway in favor of a thinner more simplistic black waistband, to ensure her waist is defined so she isn’t swallowed by all of the details of the gown. With the look being so dramatic I would pair this look with a chic vintage inspired updo, red lip, black Chanel clutch, and a pair of black Chanel pumps to really ensure that Vanessa has a beautiful red carpet look.
