The 2016 Cannes Film Festival will kick off in just over a week on Wednesday May 11 2016, and it is looking like it is going to be a crazy star studded affair. 7 gorgeous ladies are expected to take the red carpet for the Opening Ceremony gala premiere of Woody Allen’s Cafe Society. I was super excited when this film was announced as the first film of the festival, as the film has a gaggle of gorgeous women in its ranks. Probably the one I am most excited to see take to the red carpet at the opening ceremony is the gorgeous Blake Lively. It was recently announced that Blake is expecting and I am expecting some amazing fashion from her for her first film at the Cannes Film Festival. First stop of the day for Blake is the photocall. I picked this sequin floral Chanel Spring 2016 Couture draped cocktail dress. I think that this dress anywhere else would be way to much but overlooking the French riviera this dress is perfect. Adding a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Anjalina’ gold cork pumps, light pink lip, and chic waves would perfectly punctuate this look for a Cannes photocall For her change for the premiere I went with something a little bit more statement making. This pink, black, and yellow Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 Couture gown with a sequined houndstooth bodice and a flowing draped skirt would be a major statement for Blake to make. My thought is why go for something standard and expected when she could really make this dramatic gown work. Since the gown is such a statement I would have Blake style her hair into a sleek updo, add a light pink lip, and add a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Academa’ peep toe pumps to really ensure that she has a gorgeous first day of Cannes. Kristen Stewart is the other star of Cafe Society whom piques my interest of what she will bring to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. For the films photocall overlooking the French Riviera I think that this white Versace Fall 2016 RTW shift dress which features orange, green, and black statement embroidery is perfect. The simplistic nature of this look combined with the statement pattern I think would make for a perfect look for the daytime photocall. For the premiere I decided to really delve into the Chanel archives to pick the perfect look for Kristen two wear. When I was archiving all the Chanel collections from the past 16 years I came across this statement blue beaded fringe flapper style gown from the Chanel Fall 2001 Couture collection and I was like how do I not know of a red carpet moment that this gown has had. Since I couldn’t find this gown on the red carpet I decided to pick it for Kristen to wear for this premiere in Cannes. I know it might be a stretch picking something so far back in the archives but I think that Kristen would look lovely wearing it on the carpet at the Palais de Festivals. For the carpet I picked a pair of gold Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps for Kirsten, but we all know that she despises high heels so I also picked a pair of embellished gold Casadei running sneakers for her to change into after she has walked the steps. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are the only two events where the Feature Film Jury is confirmed to attends. I am hoping that Kirsten Dunst takes more more than just those two as she could have any designer send her clothes for the red carpet. For the red carpet I would love to see Kirsten on the red carpet at the Opening Ceremony wearing this white Chanel Spring 2016 Couture strapless tea length column gown which features stunning embroidery and a dramatic train. We don’t usually see the bride from the Chanel Couture shows on the red carpet, but this is such a stunning gown that I would feel denied a gorgeous moment if this is just sent to the archive. I think Kirsten has the type of look to make this work on the red carpet, with out the runway’s bomber jacket of course. I would just add a pair of optic white and light honey Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ coarse glitter degradé pointy toe pumps, vintage inspired hairdo, and a red lip to really ensure Kirsten kicks off her red carpet look in high style. And rounding out the wish list for the Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony premiere of Cafe Society is the gorgeous actress, musician, model, and Feature Film Jury member Vanessa Paradis. I have a feeling that all of Vanessa’s red carpet looks at the Cannes Film Festival will be from Chanel, as basically that is all Vanessa wears on the red carpet. I am hoping to see a little variety. I picked Chanel for her to wear for the Jury Photocall, so I am changing things up. I think that Vanessa would look absolutely gorgeous on the Cannes red carpet wearing this crimson Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2016 Couture jacquard high-low a-line gown which features a scoop neckline. This is a dramatic look and I think that Vanessa could really breath some Victorian glamour into it and make it a stand out look. Styled with a chic updo, red lip, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Talitha’ patent leather peep toe strappy pumps this would be a stand out look.
