The 2016 Met Gala is now less than a week away, only tonight’s Time 100 Gala and the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday stand between us and the most glamorous night in New York. As you might know that today is the last day of my red carpet wishes for the 2016 Met Gala red carpet. I’m uber excited for this years red carpet because I honestly don’t know what to expect with a theme of “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” I think we will be seeing a lot of very detailed looks and maybe some that incorporate details using 3-D printing. At last years gala Chloe Grace Moretz wore a Coach silk printed dress, which really had no business being on the Met red carpet, and I basically forgot she was there. I figure that Chloe will be one of the ladies on the carpet next Monday representing Chanel, whose creative director Karl Lagerfeld is one of this year’s event co-chair’s. I would pick this gold and ivory Chanel Fall 2016 RTW tea length gown which features lace and pearl details for Chloe just because of all of the details that this look incorporates, really embracing the theme of couture. I have been surprised by the fact that one of my red carpet goddesses, Jessica Chastain, has failed to deliver a solid red carpet win this year. I am really hoping that Jessica steps out on the Met Gala red carpet and really gives me a a major moment to ogle over on the red carpet. I think that this purple and gold Ralph Lauren Fall 2016 RTW strapless brocade ballgown would give me that jaw dropping moment on Jessica. This gown is one that I am really hoping we see on the Met red carpet as the threadwork on the fabric is just so gorgeous that who could deny it a moment on fashion’s biggest night? I think that this gown will work perfectly with Jessica’s aversion to carrying a clutch as it it such a statement that she would need minimal accessories to really ensure that this is a perfect look. All I would add to this look is a pair of simple gold metallic leather sandals, old Hollywood waves, and classic beauty to really let this gown do all the talking. After really blowing up with the promo tour for Spectre and signing a contract with Louis Vuitton I think we will finally see the gorgeous French actress Lea Seydoux on the Met Gala red carpet. So far we have only seen one look from Lea and Louis, and it didn’t really live up to er partnership with Prada. I am hoping that she can work the magic Alicia Vikander usually works on Vuitton red carpet looks and really start delivering some major red carpet moments. With there being 0 looks from any of the current LV collections that I really want to see on the red carpet I can most say that I want Lea to wear a custom gown by creative director, and event co-chair, Nicolas Ghesquière. I think that this white silk Louis Vuitton Fall 2016 RTW with a black leather harness bodice would be gorgeous lengthened to a full length gown. I am hoping she has a major Vuitton moment at the Met so that Cannes is not wall to wall Louis Vuitton. Finish the look with an exceptional black Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ crocodile case clutch, a pair of black sandals, Louis Vuitton high jewelry including an ‘Acte V Metamorphosis’ platinum set diamond pendant earrings and an ‘Acte V Apotheosis’ white gold, 16.51-carats tsavorite grenat, onyx, diamonds cuff bracelet would really ensure that Alicia slays the Met Gala red carpet.Rihanna is probably one of the ones I am most excited, and hopeful, to see on the Met Gala red carpet. Rihanna has been slaying with her short bob recently and I cant wait to see what she will bring to the red carpet. Will she design herself under her Fenty x Puma label? She has worn a lot of Marc Jacobs recently. I decided to go with a how that I pictured Rihanna wearing the moment I saw it on the runway. This emerald green Balmain Pre-Fall 2016 long sleeved velvet gown which features tassel and crystal detailing is a work of art and it would take a very specific type of woman to make this gown work off the runway and Rihanna has that edgy glam diva-tude to really make this gown come to life on the red carpet. I think on Rihanna this would come across as modern Victorian queen while on most it would look like they draped themselves in the curtains. With the look being so detailed keeping the styling simple with a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Benedetta’ strappy sandals, dark lip, and a sleek bob would really ensure that Rihanna has a killer Met Gala moment. Sarah Jessica Parker’s custom H&M look with a flaming headdress from last year will do down as one of the most memorable looks (along with Rihanna’s Guo Pei coat) on the Met Gala ever. I went back and forth with a host of looks for SJP to wear for this year to redeem herself from the fiery (pun intended) jokes that she wast the put of last year. Ultimately I went with this portrait neck Marc Jacobs Fall 2016 RTW embroidered and embellished ballgown. I have been underwhelmed by a lot of Sarah’s recent red carpet looks and I want her to really bring it next Monday to prove to me that she still has it and the days of her major red carpet moments aren’t in the past. This Marc Jacobs gown would do just that. I had a hard time trying to pick the perfect person to wear this collection and when it clocked with this and Sarah I knew it would be a killer red carpet moment. A very chic updo (Sarah loves to add hair and I say something big and elegant would be perfect with this gown,) a smokey eye, and a pair of silver SJP Collection ‘Pandemonium’ crystal embellished sandals would be the perfect touches to add to this look to ensure that Sarah redeems herself on the Met Gala steps and continues to solidify her fashionista status.Zendaya is always one of my favorites on the red carpet. I am expecting that Zendaya will deliver a killer red carpet look at the Met Gala, she is one of the few who I would really like to see wear something short. Last year Zendaya rocked a high/low custom Fausto Puglisi gown and it was beautiful. This white Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2016 RTW iridescent princess dress which features puffy sleeves and a full skirt. I would keep the runway’s embellished collar necklace and the embellished belt as they really make this look something special. Adding romantic pulled back waves, a bright pink lip, and a pair of Dolce & Gabbana gold embellished brocade mary-jane pumps would just really drive home the fairy tale vibe off this looks.
